My neighbor gave me a brug cutting in Jan. and I planted it. It's growing like a weed!! She doesn't know the name of it, but that's okay. I can't get over how beautiful the flowers are! They have a wonderful scent in the evening and in the morning. What kind of fertilizer do I use, or does it need it?! Do I need to prune it?

Someone else will be along to give better advice, they are heavy feeders I feed MiracleGro when I water, but mine are in containers.

I just wanted to say WOW!! You have done a terrific job in growing out your cutting.

Feed her every time you water and do not prune.

Beautiful white brug you have. I'm not very good at ID but I would guess its a suavolens (species) brug.

such a lot of blooms, I wish I just had one, I think the Indiana weather must not be good for Brugs, I pamper, feed, water keek a watchful eye and they still either die or do not grow. I will keep trying as I now have abou 60 in the ground.

I wouldn't prune her...but it's up to you. If you wanted a bush, and that looks like a great corner to have one, just leave her be. She's beautiful, and congrats on your first brug!

You can feed her up to twice a day with some good fertilizer. That's also up to you. But they are heavy feeders as mentioned in the above posts so you can do as you like as many times as you like! I use Osmocote, or Peter's, or Miracle Grow. Usually whatever is around here at the time I go out and water.

Good luck and again congrats!

I came back to read Julie's post and Scoot's post, again, and I'm still wondering if you guys 'fertilize every time you water' and 'feed her up to twice a day with a good fertilizer'? I add the nutriments you mentioned on this forum, Scoot, but I don't fertilize every day every day and there are some days, not yet, that i have to water twice a day. I fertilize maybe once every 5 or 6 days. But, I do have very rich soil. Julie, do you mean with a weak fertilizer? Both of you have beautiful, healthy brugs, and I know you know your stuff, but this seems like an execrated course that I'm not familiar with and with both of you saying just about the same thing, I wonder where I missed the boat? TIA!!!

Hi, Snowsail - she's a beauty. I'm not very good at IDs either - but it looks an awful lot like Citronella. Here is a pic of mine blooming yesterday..
