Nice picture and great comments! I now plan to put mine on a plant stand.
A synonym for this is Duranta erecta (don't ask me why, it sounds parodoxical to repens) and other information and pictures are found at this page:

I love the picture of the one that has been trained as a standard.
I did an internet search and see that 'Sapphire Showers' is sold as both D. repens and D. erecta.

Toxicondendron, Thanks for the comment, this was my first time to add a plant. I wondered the same thing about the synonym when I saw the other entry. According to the botanary, repens means spreading or creeping while the erecta means erect or upright.

I'm trying to get the plants in my journal lined up with a plant in the PlantFiles so it will make the link to the PlantFiles. It has to be exact as far as genus and species goes so my choice was to change the species or add a new plant. I decided this was the time to dive in!

Well we are certainly happy to have you dive right in! I love reading the comments here, because they are so honest (unlike the nursery ads).
I agree with you that repens seems more appropriate for this plant if it tends to hang down instead of being strongly upright.

Well, you two have me convinced....I gotta get....I have been looking at this plant for months....I was afraid of it taking over the landscape, but neither of you mentioned anything like that. Prune yes, I understand.

I think this is the next baby I bring home. Thanks to both of you.
