Wish I could post more than one pic. Does anyone have any good ideas for tropicals along the back fence? I am in Sacramento in zone 9. The fence is in some shade during the heat of the day. Something fragrant and low maintainence would be great.

Yes, Brugmansias would grow well there and there's a great forum here at DG's with very helpful and knowledgeable people.
