Here is a photo I took a couple of days ago of Whiskers still in its winter pot, beside my front door. Donna

Donna, that is a bunch of blooms you have there. I could never get Whiskers to bloom that heavy. Looks great.

Pickens, SC(Zone 7a)

ohhh, ohh, mine is growing but no buds yet, unless that is one microscopic one that I MAY be seeing :)

Zion, IL(Zone 5a)

verrrrry nice.

Now what poppy is that in there? My chocolates are just opening but wind will probably knock 'em down today.

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

Ruth, she's very pretty and so full, great picture. Thank you for sharing with us.

WOW!!!

I hope you won't mind answering some question for me.

1) Single or multiple trunks. (Sorry I can't tell by the picture)

2) Staked or not

3) Wintered-over how?

What would make me happy are a few Brugs of different colors some single and some double which looked half as good as your Whiskers. I don't care about having the "latest" colors. I just want those that are good strong plants and the least attractive to insects. (lol)

Thanks for taking the time to post the picture.

That is a lovely Whiskers!

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

Very very nice! Mine still hasn't budded yet. I "think" it has Y'd, but this sour weather isn't helping anything grow in my yard. Please, summertime - return!

Clinton, CT(Zone 6b)

Wow Ruth - beautiful flush! I lost my poor little Whiskers cutting over the winter - it just starting dying back from the top and never recovered. sniff. But I do have about 22 of them this year compared to 2 last year so my collection is growing. I am most excited this year to have Vixen and Butterfly - can't WAIT to see those blooms!

Thankyou all so much for your nice compliments. And yes does smell wonderful when going into the house.

Blaine, the oriental poppy is one of my very most favorites, 'Watermelon' and very aptly named. It is very large and the stems that escape my tomato wire holder flop.

judycooksey, It is a single trunk and not staked. It is a quite windprotected place. It was wintered over in the pot it is still in, about a 5 gal. size, in the gh. I try to remember to fertilize each time i water.

Thanks again everyone for looking at Whiskers. DonnaS

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Such a nice shot Ruth. I bet it smells great. And I love poppies too. That one is a great color.

Kell and Snow, thanks for the compliments. It rained some yesterday and is raining this morning. Only got to 62 degrees yesterday, had to turn my heat back on. I'm not complaining but the alfalfa hay people are, they can't cut and bail their hay fields. DonnaS
