Growing like crazy! Some new growth questions...

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9b)

The epi cuttings I received on May 4th have been growing like crazy. Some have grown new arms 8" long. I don't know if this is good or not, lol. Can they grow too fast, and should I cut them back or anything?

This first photo shows growth that looks different than the rest. It's all skinny. Is this just a regular arm growing? At first I thought it might be a bloom, lol. (More photos to follow.)

This is another mystery growth. I am not sure how this type grows new arms. There's 2 little growths coming from the stem...

Some of the new tips are very thin...do they get wider as they mature?

(edit to say that I'm so excited about the new forum, and thanks so much for your help and input!)

Lovely normal, natural growth! Don't even think about cutting anything back. The thin leaves will get wider and produce more leaves. You can stake some growth if you wish. I ended up putting tomato cages around my Epi oxy plants which get some really tall thin spikes.

Great! Thank you, Clare, and what beautiful plants you have there. The cage is a neat idea. Thanks again!

I've been watching and reading hoping to get an answer to my question and poof, there it is!!!!
Mine finally took off this spring and I was concerned that it was so tall and thin should it be supported?

New growth is a good thing and I've learned to never question what form the plant might choose to grow. :-)

The only time I would be concerned about long skinny growth is if the plants are in very low light situations and are stretching to get to the light.

Yours look very normal and growing fast! Congrats!!

CC, you are too kind. I'm pretty sure that I stole the tomato cage idea from Candy! LOL!

Ever been outside at night with a flashlight?

Not yet, huh?

You will be soon.

LOL! Well now I will be!

I confess to casually looking them over at least 10x a day when I walk past.
2 other times a day are up close with my readers, lol.

My spouse had been anxiously waiting for "his" gardenia bloom to open for what seemed like ages. I was in a room with the view of him walking past it and happened to see him at the moment he spied the bloom...he threw his arms open wide along with dropping his jaw, and ran in to tell me his gardenia bloom had opened...can't even imagine what his reaction will be after waiting maybe a few YEARS and seeing a first epi bloom, lol.
