Pics at last.... my water lilies

Mysore, India(Zone 10a)

I'd promised to post pictures when the roll gets over. Here it is ..... as old as September last. They were one of the very few that came out and the best was the one on the left. The water got bad after October or so and the bulbs never did well thereafter. I have them still, but the leaves are weak and small, showing no signs of healthy progress - have to add some more soil I presume. The pond too was reshaped a bit as I discussed in another thread. Will post pictures of that too.

This is not from my pond. A good friend of mine had taken me to Ramakrishna Mission School where they have a well-maintained garden campus. There was this one in its full beauty and luckily I had my camera with me. Look at those healthy stems!

Here's the pond's new picture... my younger d is in it. There is not much one can make out by its shape, but I have increased the capacity by removing more earth and reshaping the insides.

Beautiful blooms! Is the netting above your pond for shade?

GW,
The netting is to prevent heavy fruits from the Aegle marmelos tree that is in my neighbour's yard. It canopies the area where my pond is located. It has caught quite a number of fruits that has a hard shell and falls like a bomb! The fruit is bigger than a tennis ball and smaller than a baseball. I have put a lining of mosquito net to prevent smaller fruits and leaves from the other trees close to it -- their fall is too much in too short a time, esp. in the fall season and that had spoilt the pond last year. So the net was hung, with good results.
