I had to take my son's ferret, Critter, to the vet this evening. She hasn't been eating the past few days and has been very lethargic, not like her at all. Her abdomen is very tender, the vet took x-rays but they were unclear. Her white cell count is very high. He feels it is either an obstruction, or cancer. She is also dehydrated, so she is spending the night at the vet's, they were going to give her fluids. He'll give her barium tonight and take another x-ray and another first thing in the morning. He is hoping that will show more clearly what the problem is. Either way it will probably mean surgery. We're hoping that it's an obstruction, if it's one or the other, that doesn't sound as final as cancer. We would appreciate any prayers sent her way.
