It's a medicinal herb. Here are some links:

I don't know what weed you are talking about but it looks almost identical to a weed I have all over my yard. But the leaves are kind of.. serrated. And glossier/flatter than the weed. It is great to grow under plants that are in full sun. If it has good water it will spread really fast. It grows by runners just underground. I don't know how hardy it is but evergreen here in 8b Texas. Would probably make a great houseplant.

Actually, it does look like dollar weed. If I didn't have it growing in a controlled area, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference at first glance.

I have some Gotu Kola growing from a small pot sitting in my zone 9 shade bed by the house. It's been there since late September and has grown down about 7 feet long an 8-9 inches wide. It roots out along the vine as it rest on the ground.

Witch, thanks for posting those links. It has refreshed my resolve to make better use of some of my herbs.

sevensisters,
sure, I prefer large trades too to save on postage. the gota kola is pretty small tho, grows under other plants. what else are you looking for!

naturewalker,
you want some?

Soquel, CA(Zone 9a)

um...flower perennials, i guess. or other medicinals.

What would you consider for some?? You say it spreads really quickly--it would make probably a great groundcover in front of the house I live in. Almost total shade so it would be happy. Would get LOTS of water since it seems almost everytime it rains that part of the yard is a small lake??!! hehehe LMK Bonnie

Yes I would Michelle!

It spreads by runners underground.

Sorry I flaked out on everyone. My computer was down for a month. It barely works now, have to restart all the time. I crashed my car. My work went thru a construction/conversion and I worked for 2+ weeks straight. It's 100 degrees here and too hot to ever water. Most of my plants are fried. THere are weeds everywhere. My husband got activated for Katrina relief. My life is crazy right now, I will get back to y'all later.

I completely understand! Real life gets in the way all the time.

I had to lighten it a little to see the inside!
