Sau var after 6 weeks

RICHMOND, VA(Zone 7b)

This has been a very desirable plant from the first, and is showing Maya how to behave - has been outside since May 1. She was a ft when purchased mid April.

She is looking good. I think I'll try her again next year. I liked her foliage, even more than Maya, I think.

Polly,

She is very pretty!!! I read somewhere that she is the best of the variegated as far as being a good strong plant goes, my experience is too limited to know if this is true or not. Do you have other Variegated brugs to compare with her??

Very pretty. I love mine and it's one of the few I have kept through the years. It's a strong plant and a great bloomer.

Judy, I have the Maya I am growing out from Kell's gift to show her adaptability in different regions which is about a ft now. I have SnowBank, who is 3 years old and has a creamy varigated leaf and a gorgeous creamy bloom with a touch of pink at the tip. (he is suffering defoliation from an overdose of systemic, but is putting out new growth, now),and Peaches & Cream, who is a bit slower to grow. Both Sau var and Peaches & Cream I bought this spring. I also have varigated Daphne and hydrangeas, so you can tell I am partial.

She looks very healthy, I have a Maya start from Kell and afraid it does not like Indiana, this is the second one and it lost all its leaves, it does show a couple of new ones coming on, I think she must be very tempremental but I must say I have had so many bugs on my plants this year and it doesn't help when you have to spray them all the time, this time I am trying the Veg. oil liquid soap, and water from Jerry Bakers "Book of Tonics"

Polly... I've had a variegated bug for several years now and it's getting worse!!
I'm so new to brugs I don't think I'd heard of this one. New variegation this spring was the Kumsen (sp) variegated forsythia. Veined in yellow.

If you accidentally knock a piece or sucker off this, don't throw it. I've got a variegated hydrangea that would gladly jump out of the ground, into a box and head your direction. ;) In your zone, you'd probably get to enjoy the blooms as well. Most hydrangeas I want bloom on old wood so up here they die back to the ground every year. :(

Looks great, Polly.

8 FT, I'll make you a cutting (after July 4th)!
Plez remind me.
I'm a lousy engineer, so all your bubbling is going to be a bit of a challenge for me. (Took an aptitude test 39 years ago, and my lowest scores were being a carpenter, and a nun.)
But we'll be in the pet fish store, come fall.
I love my Lacecap Hydrangeas, which mostly bloom on new growth - or so it appears.

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

;Polly, great looking brugs. I have Snowbank that i kept in the gh all winter. Did have a problem with aphids inside, but okay now after being planted in the ground, but the leaves are all smaller than they should be. Perhaps I don't fertilize enough. Have had a very busy seedling planting spring so some things got neglected. Yours look really good. DonnaS

They look wonderful!
