you wanted to see my brug alley I have been working on. This is the front North side of my home looking east. These are still in pots but will eventually be put in the ground in front of the Nandinas. Notice the little concrete squares and keep them in mind

this is looking north along the east side of driveway fence and ahead of the concrete squares. Brugs run the entire length of the east and north side of the property/driveway, about 50'+ on north side

this is ahead of the concrete squares and looking east from the fence. We have a wooden board walk coming from the front porch which will be extended to make a L and go to the gate. That is why you see the corner of brugs this way. Notice there are brugs in the background all the way to the end of fenceline.

Very nice Donna,
Do you leave them in the ground year round. I started planting my brugs close together but they grow so big here I might have to rethink my plans.
Me and my husband were out the shadehouse yesterday and he asked what I was going to do with all my plants, I told him they would be planted all over the yard. He seemed alittle overwhelmed by them all, especially since he helps dig the holes. We only have a few nights of frost down here, so my growing time virtually never ends. I have noticed a big difference in the size of what I am growing and everyone elses on the forums. Not that mine bloom sooner though, those that have greenhouses still get a jump on early blooms so far, but I am still experimenting. I would like to be able to go from flush to flush all year round, so I am working towards that goal.

and last but not least the southwestern coner and my wildlife area. My huge butterfly garden and behind it along the fence is a huge ginger, cana, coscromia, iris bed, in the very southwestern coner are some newly planted Coralberry bushes and hollies to make winter fruits for the birds. The silver pole is where my clitoria vines grow. Perrenial in pots line the whole area

yes Connie they all come back for me and stay in the ground. I always take back up cuttings just in case though. If we have a wet winter sometimes I lose a few

Donna, your place is outta this world, I can see all the thought, planning and work and it surely paid off, big time!!! I just love your part of the world and I'm thinking of making yet another trip, to eat, down there in July, there is a restaurant that we absolutely love. Tell me, Donna, is the tall wooden structure inside one of your beds, and appears to be 'open' on the sides/top, is that an arbor and, or maybe used to keep the brugs from baking?? I surely hope you don't get back in the yard too quickly. The whole thing is perfect, you've done a wonderful job!!!!!

Houston, TX(Zone 9b)

Wow, you have a georgous yard and it will soon be full of brug flushes. What is the purple blooming bush?

Hey!!! I remember that yard! It sounds like you are feeling better now Donna...talking about digging brug holes. I hope YOU are not going to take that on yourself after all you've been through. Glad to see that you're thinking about getting your nails dirty again.

Donna, your yard is beautiful. Hope you aren't over doing it. LOL

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

nope not doing a thing but being bored out of my mind. Worked non stop for a month getting as much done as I could before the surgery. DH even helped plant some. It is killing me to see things I need to do but can't. I will not risk further injury trying to do anything until I know the grafts are taking and that will be 3 months before they will even check. Right now lift nothing heavier than 1 gal of milk, no bending, twisting, or stretching to reach for anything. Just started doing a little easy cooking last week. I will attempt to repot some 4" pots to gal from the back porch if DH will put me a bag of dirt up there lol. I can stand on the ground and work from the step like a desk top. Have been moving the sprinklers around and that is a real work out for me. Had a good rain last week and was just about to have to water again and got a half day good slow soaking rain today so I should be good for another week. I am gonna lose my mind with nothing to do. I truly enjoyed the visit Larry. He gave me a real good work out around the yard.

(Mary) Poway, CA(Zone 10a)

Thanks for the tour, Donna! Everything looks great!

Is that a Rat Terrier or Jack Russell in the first picture. I've got a Jack Russell who is very lively. 6 years old, acting like 6 months sometimes. Right now I have to put a pillow on my stomach to protect the incision site because he likes to jump on my lap after running across the room. He obeys hand signals and verbally, but if I'm not fast enough directing him he lands ... wham .... right on the stomach. Ouch! Terriers are both terrific and terrible. :-)

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh Donna! Everything looks absolutely beautiful and huge and green. I wish I lived closer. I would love to dig those holes and help with anything else you need. Of course you might rather go dig than entertain the girls but my eldest throws a mean tea party. :) Maybe you can just bat those eyelashes and get your hubby and other young guys (like Ely LOL) to do your planting. Your garden is just beautiful and will be spectacular when you get all your plans finished.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Sorry my white dog is a Rat Terrier Poo Bear about 4 yrs old and the black one is a Feist Scooby Dudes about 6 yrs old. They are my shadows where ever I go. If I am out in the sun the Dudes will find a shady spot near by but Poo never leaves my side unless she see's something she need to go sick like a squirrell or another dog walking past her fence. Tell you what you don't need a door bell with these 2. Started to get a Jack Russell too but then changed my mind. These 2 are such a handful. No room in the bed now. would never get any sleep with 3 of them ROFL!!!!!!!!!
