Hi,
I was hoping someone could help me verify the ID of this Hoya pachyclada (which I bought it as)? The flowers has opened and they look white. I've read some places pachyclada is supposed to be light green tinted and other places that it's white/near white. So, I was wanting a verification of what I have, thanks!
I also have a subquintuplinervis blooming, it looks just like pachyclada bloom (to my eyes anyways), only it has more of a green tint to it.
Thanks in advance!
Vilde
Is this a pachyclada?
Videla,
I am by no means an expert, but, can share I have learned thus far. The difference in the 2 can be determined by the shape of the leaf, while the flowers are very similar. H. subquintuplinervis has a rounder leaf than H. pachyclada.
I can also tell you that the plant you got from me is H. subquintuplinervis. I did verify the ID with an expert in the field.
Awanda has a better eye for ID of these 2 than I do. Hopefully she will chime in here!
Thanks Mel!
Yes, the leaves on the plant bought as pachyclada has longer leaves than the ones on the subquintuplinervis I got from you.

You can put your photo up on this link and compare it....https://www.bigislandgrowers.com/AHcomp/AHpach1.php
I have some photos of the type sheets which I would be glad to send to you via email if you give me your email address....I don't know how to put them up here. They will clearly show you the difference between the two leaves....somewhere I had a photo of the two leaves together to show the difference, once shared by Christine Burton on another forum....but can't find them.
