What a surprise I got when I was walking around the yard with my coffee this morning.
This is a seedling from last year and looks completely different from the blooms that I saw last fall.
Last year the inner skirt was even with the outer skirt. This year it has extended way beyond the outer skirt and it's got at least one more skirt inside just starting to show.
I'll be keeping my eye on it and see if it continues to bloom the same all summer. It's a Ludger cross.
A double pink surprise!
Beautiful!!

I would be so proud of this bloom so I know you have to be.

Ludger had some really great seeds this past year..I hope this new year goes as well. I have seen at least 6 doubles and/or triples from his seeds. I wish I had gotten some of them.
Oh how wonderful Terry. I am so happy for you
Beautiful!!
Beautiful Terry!!!

And...it looks like the 3rd skirt is even darker!! Wouldn't that be kewl?
Very pretty flower and you will have many more. I hope the third skirt comes down for you. Be sure to post more pictures of it progress. Can't wait to see the rest of it in full flush!!

WOW. Ludger sure has come up with lots of great ones! I am not sure I have even heard of a triple pink before. Hope he gets to see it next time he is here.
It sure will be alot of fun watching this one! Look at those colors!
You are one lucky gal Terry :)
That's way purdy! Can't wait for the next pics! Congrats! Bj
gosh, what a beauty. now i have brug envy again.
at least i get to enjoy it here though. thanks for sharing!
ok, I'm impressed, that's georgous, how much fun.
I just need to learn how to do crosses, heck I've never even seen a seed pod on mine and they are huge.
Who's going to volunteer to take me on as my brug mentor? LOL I need lots of help.
Buns, just keep reading, the mentors are all here and are so much help. I can't believe what I've learned in the last 2 years from this group.
Another beauty, Snow. You have really grown some great ones. I can't believe all these pink doubles and triples that are in the U.S. now. Maybe someday all us brug lovers will be so lucky.
Thanks everyone. I've been unable to get on the computer till now as we have been having high winds, rain and lightning.
Two buds have blown off this one but there are still two more hanging on and beginning to open.
I ran out to get one more picture before the wind gets it. It has turned a darker pink.
Gorgeous!! Congrats to you Terry!
It's really lovely Terry !!
I have to ask this question, but please don't anyone take offense:
Are there other triple Pinks or is this a first?
Judy
Wow Terry, that is just outstanding! Soooo pretty and I love the deepness of the pink! I'd be sleeping with it tonight! LOL With my nose stuck up as high as it could go!!!! It looks so cool! Does it smell good too?
Great surprise!!!!!
The pink color is beautiful. I finally got the English translation for Monika's book yesterday and have spent part of today reading it. I thought there were no pink doubles.
How does one got access to the hybrids mentioned in Monika's book or the seeds and or cuttings that are mentioned throughout this forum? I saw rooted cuttings of a few European hybrids offered on e-bay, but after what I have read recently about the unreliability of some of the sellers, I wonder if buying Brugmansias through e-bay is worth it?
