I have some red raspberries in a 20-gallon container and they've been bearing raspberries for about 3 weeks now. Yum! I use 1-0-0 fish emulsion for most of my other vegis and wondering if this is a good choice for raspberries.
Is fish emulsion a good fertilizer for red raspberries?
I don't know of any plant that doesn't appreciate fish juice... go for it.
Thank you :) It's been raining all week, but the soil is always dry. Not sure if the rain drips off of the plants or the plant is really thirsty. I mixed up 2 gallons worth and poured it in, after I ate another handful of raspberries.
All plants love fish juice. I make my own in 5 gallon buckets with tight fitting lids. I wait until a big rain is about to set in and rush around wearing a face mask putting it to all the fruits and nuts. Unbelievable harvests! At least that's what I used to do before I got disabled. Now I can't beg or bribe anyone to do it. I probably needed to give it up anyway because the last time the weather man lied and even with heavy watering I had to suffer the smell for days.
revisiting this thread and saw your post Twiggy...
got me to thinking about Jerry Baker's cleanup routine where I use anti-septic mouthwash and lemon flavored dishsoap as a couple of ingredients. The yard always smells fresh and clean after spraying. Might as well add at least the dish soap if not both to the bucket.
Think I'll try it this evening just for snorts and giggles.
Let us know how it works, 8ftbed. I'll be spraying fish juice again soon and might do the same.
I gave my raspberries fish emulsion yesterday and was lucky enough to find the "deoderized" kind made by Alaska.
