glowing on my first bloom as she turns pink!!!
The setting sun
they are lovely kell, and here I am still struggling to keep mine alive, I have found Indiana has things that love to eat them, squirrels, BIG RED ANTS, white spiders,
mites, and rabbits, and the weather has not been kind, supposed to be in the 80s this week maybe that will help.
Doris
Awesome photos, Kell! My Brugs are slower than normal to bloom this year. I can only hope they make up for it in quality and abundance.
oh how I hate wasp. Already killed a couple of nest in my bird houses and on the front porch. Beautiful pics
Is that what that is? Wasp? I thought it was a hornet. It is weird, there is only one and he usually is squeezed between the leaf and the outside ledge of that nest. I have been calling him Ralph. I guess I should stop fraternizing with the enemy and toss that leaf.
Editted to say poor Doris. What a struggle it is for you to have brugs. I had no clue ants ate brugs or any plant for that matter. I sure hope it gets better for you. It must be so frustrating.
Mel, do you have buds yet?

Looks like what we call 'yellow jacket', and they have a mighty sting. Be careful messing with that one.
Kell, love those tendrils on the first one and the doubles are so pretty! We get wasp nests on leaves, the wasps are yellow and brown and rarely sting. I was trimming a ficus and had my head right up by their nest and they were just sitting on the nest looking at me. I didn't mess with them, I left them alone. They eat bugs and caterpillars and as long as they aren't agressive, they can stay.
Did y'all know there is a leaf cutter ant that will cut all the leaves off of plants and take them to their nest? We also have a big bumblebee looking bee that cuts pieces out of leaves, looks like someone took a hole puncher to the edge of the leaves. He doesn't like brugs, he prefers elephant ears and my evergreen wisteria!
you are lucky Susie. Those things attack here. Also have a black one with red and they are very aggressive.
Yeah, we had those in TN and also yellow jackets that built in the ground. I'm allergic to those.
The bad bees here are the Africanized honeybees. They attack for no reason and the whole hive attacks. I haven't seen any. I have been to a few houses that had regular honeybees building in the attic, wall or eaves of the houses. One house was full of honeybees! I just closed the door, called the real-estate agent and said "when they're gone, I'll go back!"
I had a cutter bees here last year. I was trying to find the thread for the pic. My crape myrtle was almost eaten alive. Circles taken out of all the leaves. Someone on Dave's IDed it for me. Said they live in the ground.
Susie, I forgot to post this new brug. It must be one of yours. I usually put he hybrizer's name on them, but this one must have been a problem child for I just have a scribble Tiara X ?. You are the only one I can think of who would have given me these seeds.
She is a mini, soslender at the top half. Adorable. She is having some trouble opening her buds, but it could be from irregular watering. I have been erratic.
I did some Tiara crosses and the tags faded, so it could be one I wasn't sure of and labeled Tiara X. I'm glad to see some doubles from those crosses! Bleu stepped on mine.
Bleu is being framed again, hmmmm? lol
I think I have one Tiara x LA with buds, we'll see.......
Kell, I like them all........ :)
Great photos Kell ... love the looks of the last one. Hope it gets some color for you.
