Hibiscus has yellow leaves

These are hibiscus that I got in the Coop here. The leaves are yellowing but not dry. They are in a pot . What do they need.? Thanks for all your help Janetlee

You might try some fertilizer, just make sure the middle # in real low. I use one that the ratio is 17-5-24. Or try some Epsom salts, they do like that. I was told once that the yellowing of leaves could mean 1 of 3 things, difference in temperature, watering and fertilizing. I am still in the learning process of being a gardener, so what I told you is what someone has suggested to me to try. Maybe a DG'er that knows more about it will come in and help you out.

Fertilizing hibiscus isn't necessary unless your soil is absolutely depleted.

My guess is a couple of things: 1) Too much sun or heat for them at this time &/OR 2) They are showing signs of some type of stress they have suffered recently - shipping (I don't remember when yours were shipped), a change of location (from house to yard; shade to full sun), too much water,....

Has any of these things happen lately?

We have been getting alot of rain, and with the sprinkler system. I think that it is an overwatering proble. I am going to see if it will dry out and look better...Janetlee
