Which allium to combine with Siberian Iris?

Hi, everybody--

Perhaps the veteran allium growers would have some advice for me...? I am looking at the White Flower Farm Catalog Allium page (here's a link to the online version http://www.whiteflowerfarm.com/cgi-local/search.pl?text=allium&dosearch.x=16&dosearch.y=8 ) and getting excited and enticed into trying some more in my garden (I tried Gladiator and one other last year) ....

and I was wondering:

1) which allium will bloom along with Siberian Iris, specifically what is a really gorgeous combination (if you know one) ? --

and

2) if anyone is growing another favorite combination plant with allium?

I looked at the Globemaster thread and it looks like some of you are having lots of fun with them...Any pictures?

I just happened upon this thread while scanning for other bulb-y info.....

I too wish to add alliums to my gardens and tuck them in nearby other plants for good combos.
Last fall I added the smaller blue alliums (allium azureum-heads about the size of a golf ball) along w/ the husker red penstemon I was replanting. The combo of deep green foliage w/ the strong red hues topped off by white flowers w/ the blue globes intermingled is GOOD.
Maybe a pic next year.

Anyone else?

I'm trying Allium nigrum with my deep violet Siberians. They're described as having softball sized heads of sivery grey-ish white. In Brent and Becky's catalog they're pictured with Siberians; I fell in love with the combo. I'm also adding Allium moly and neapolitanum around the ankles of some of the Siberians; hoping the repitition of form in different heights enhances the effect. B&B offers several varieties and I think most of them bloom with Siberians- I found it hard to choose.

sounds like interesting combinations. I did not see the B an B combination in their on line catalog, though.

I ordered some Mt. Everest and Purple Sensations, Gladiators and Globemasters from Touch of Nature...now I have to determine which to put where...

I think it was WFF that suggested putting the allium with hostas, too.

I planted moly and several others last year...I hope they come back for me...
