She's a pure White and I love White as well as all of the other colors. This is her second year. She has been a very prolific bloomer, with nice dark green leaves, and is great in the direct full sun all day.
Now I received these from the seed bank at one time, so I do not have the hybridizer's name. I would like to know who hybridized this cross if at all possible to honor their name. If anyone knows please email me. Thanks

Julie,
Great flower!
Depending on which seed bank you got it from, maybe you could scroll through prior messages and find the one where you picked it. Might take some time looking for the right thread, but i'm sure it can be found.
Verrry pretty ba
are you going to the swap in ga?

BA are you wondering why nobody is posting? I think honest evaluations should be given. In my honest opinion this brug looks common. It looks like an old fashioned suaveolens. Hybridizers have thrown out thousands of brugs like this. I think if you like her and she grows well in your garden, you should keep her. I just don’t feel she is worthy of being named and registered. Perhaps I am wrong and that is not your intention, but that is how I took the post.
This is one of the Brugs you planted out in your yard, isn't it??? It certainly loves the environmental conditions. Thanks for taking the time to post this pictures and share with us. I personally like white blooms period and especially the Brugs.
Judy
I can tell you are so excited, Julie! Wait till your very own cross first blooms. It is so much fun.
I understand what Delisa is saying, Julie. If you cross a lot of suavs, this kind of shaped white is the one you get. Most people do not post them so you would have no way of knowing that. However, my mother always said, every eye forms its own beauty! I am so glad you got a brug you love. That is all that counts.
Dear Delisa
Apparently you misread my post or my intention. I'm not trying to name this brug but give credit to the people that bred it.
Thank you Ely, and no I'm sorry I won't be attending the Swap :-)
Also, thank you Judy and Kell.

Brug Addict, This was a cross of J.T.Sessions... seed bank . I had this one as well. It was a nothing cross and most of mine were white and the same shape as your's as well. To many of the same. I culled the whole batch. I had planted them last year waited till this year to see if any thing at all changed....everything remained the same so as I said unless this is a plant that you just love for yourself, I don't think he would care, but don't let me speak for him if you wish to contact do so.. You have many others that are better.
Thanks cinnabor! I wish I could go up there and put his name in the (name pending) part of the title of this thread now. Anyhow, I don't wish to name it, but to only enjoy it's beauty and give credit to the hybridizer to which it was crossed from.
I hope that those that are growing out seedlings for different DGer's will post the blooms they get as well. It's always fun to see what they'll look like. I am not into the competition of things but to enjoy the fun, excitement and thrill of growing them and seeing their beautiful fruits they bare. Flowers lol...
Delisa, bless you for being so honest and forthright :-)))))

Julie, that was one of my crosses.I agree with the others.Keep it for your own enjoyment if you like it but I don't think it should be named.Sorry it didn't turn out better.
Maybe there's already a ton of look-alikes out there but I like it and applaud your success of sprouting, growing out and carrying over a second year. Acid Test: any fragrance?
With any luck I'll be the first to post blooms from your cross! Got 8 of them and they're sassy young ladies with a couple now in ground.
You're such a great guy Blaine. Thank you. I like it too. Great fragrance too!!!! Smells like a fruity banana LOL
Thank you for replying G2S, I am just glad to know who it belonged to.
Have a great night everyone.

Julie, I love a good white too. I had a great white seedling last year too, and I'm waiting for it to bloom this year. It was a bright white with long curved tendrills, PB X ? Looked alot like 'Ambrosia'. Another from the same seed batch was a light gold. I kept it too and am waiting for it to bloom this year. I just haven't gotten to the place yet where I can toss them, but I've got to soon, just don't have space for more.
Hello Everyone!!!
I would like to discuss tossing brugs that you don't want. I know that the goal is to produce a better or different looking brug, but.... is it a possibility that you could be tossing a brug that insects don't like or that may winter-over in the ground in zone 5?
Also please consider there are DG people who are not "into" brugs and are short on funds (as older individuals on a fixed income, have several children, caring for aging parents etc.) who would like a brug that was pretty and smelled good.... one of your culls could make another person very happy.
Just my 2 cents.
Judy
Gosh Judy, I wish I had time to be a brug store for the world. LOL. If I gave away every brug or brug piece I toss, I would be doing it 24 hours a day. I am lucky if I get out a hundred boxes a year as give aways. I am considering going way down from that number too, it gets so expensive and it is so time consuming.
Your community is sure going to be lucky having you there. As soon as you are into it a few years and if you are as nuts as I am, you will be able to supply all your town!
Judy,
I think thats a great idea. I will definatley consider that when i'm looking to cull. Its easy to forget that some may not be as fortunate as us. I was just talking to someone today and mentioned that so many of the "real world" are still happy to walk in to a nursery and buy a pink, white or yellow. Its just us nuts who are stuck on the names, lol.
Just today i called mom and told her to come get 2 seedlings that didnt do anything for me. She was thrilled. Of course she has alot of the named ones, but really could care less what they are. I doubt if she even kept the tags with them.
Jen
p.s. I think we're pretty lucky to have you here on DG.
I had some white seedlings that I had no interest in keeping, so I put the plants at the end of my driveway with a sign "free angel trumpet plants" and sure enough, somebody stopped and got them. Like you said, these people don't care about names, they just want a pretty plant for their yard.
If anyone is interested in reading a good article called Evaluating Seedling Hybrids by Kyle Courtney just email me and I will send you the link.
i would like to read it.
I give seedlings away all the time. Many are still local and many have gone to Des Moines to be used by the city in their planters. The only reason it can get expensive to send packages of cuttings is if you don't ask for the postage in return. I've never had a problem with people saying they will send postage. It always gets to me within a few days. Great people here.
Brigie, I think it is wonderful that you give them to the city for their planters. I was thinking about the "culls" and immediately nursing homes and such places came to mind. I just hate to see a thing of beauty destroyed when it can bring happiness to others.
Judy
I have to admit i went out today with a whole new opinion of seedlings. Thank you Judy, for bringing this to the front.
If Glory taught me *anything* I'd have to say it was about sharing. I just got off the phone with JanetOS and she reminded me that even Gloria couldnt stand to toss a seedling or a cutting. She stuck them out behind her greenhouse and gave them away to anybody that wanted them.
I never heard her complain about the amount of packages she sent out, nor did she ever wait to get postage before she did. I doubt, very seriously, that she ever even kept track of what she sent to who. Just a surpise for her to get a check in the mail.
I say "No more compost brugs for me". I don't even think its about sending out the packages, its about just giving...period. Nursing homes, the city, ..whereever beauty is needed.
Which reminds me of an old lady that lives on my way to work. She has what looks to be a cg and a plain white one. I think i'll take some cuttings over her today.
Warms my heat.... A Random Act of Kindness!!!
Judy
I think we should make certain that all of Glory's babies are multiplied and spread throughout the brug community. Unfortunately, I don't have any of them. If any of you have cuttings available of American Pride, Becca Lynn, Biloxi Belle, Gloria Lessner, Ihilani, Old Glory, Jessie's Little Doll or Jessie Noel - I would love to have them and of course will pay postage. Did I miss any of them?
Oh Julie, that is really pretty! Looks so pure. And the smell is fruity banana? YUM! lol
Donna
I have Becca Lynn and Jessie Noel but the tags are faded in the yard and i have to wait for them to bloom in order to make sure which is which. Gloria had a tendancy to write on old window shades with pencil, lol.
I just recently got snowcone, so cant cut on it right now, but have plans for this fall.
I had a trade going for Biloxi Belle but it fell through.
Maybe one of these days....
I have to wait until BL and JN bloom to know which is which, and Snowcone needs to get alot bigger. Right now she is only 1 stalk and i dont want to cut the top off, its hasnt y'ed yet either.
I will definately share this fall ; )
oh anything with the name Jessie love to have try my grandd. is Jessica-- jessie for short.. babies twins can't say Jessica but can jessie otherwise its ca ca.. heavens we know what that means her step grandma step dads mother was calling her caca.. so i put in my 2 cents....
Gee, I just turned my husband loose on a whole section of brugs today. I said KILL KILL KILL! It makes him so happy to get rid of them. Poor guy, dug 50 brug holes yesterday.
God love you guys. I can see it now, all your nursing homes oldsters over wintering brugs in their rooms. I love it! LOL
I'm not even going to debate it with you. The one i delivered today made them very happy. We discussed the need for winter protection and she said not to worry they have a greenhouse.....HA!!!! But its pretty sad that you would think of the negative instead of looking at the happiness that it brings during the blooming cycle. Who really gives a poot if they die in the winter? Lord knows there will be more seedlings available next year for them.
Kinda reminds me of my mom telling me if you cant say something nice, dont say anything at all. Now would be a good time for those words of wisdom.
I hope you are not talking to me Ms. Jen. I was not being negative at all. I got such a chuckle out of imagining rooms in nursing homes filled with brugs all winter. It is a riot. .And I agree Ms. Jen, if you can't say something nice, do not say it!
Everyone if you haven't seen the pictures of MSJen riding her horse Fancy, please take a look at them in the Pet Forum.
I'm so proud of the progress both of them have made.
Judy
