Does anyone know?I have Hep C and take milk thistle. But if I could take bull thistle root it would be free, plus I'd be doing the farmers a favor by getting rid of as many as I can dig up.lol.Thanks,Jody

Jody, I'd check into this thoroughly before doing this, alot of herbs can be dangerous if taken for the wrong thing as i'msure you know, I know my mother took milk thistle seed in her cancer tea, but don't know anything about the bull thistle. good luck toya in finding info,

Thanks Kathy,
I wouldn't dare use it unless I knew for sure.

Why not grow your own milk thistle? Seeds are available in some of the catalogs and it's a neat looking plant. I bet Jonny's Seed carries them.

As far as I know... it's not the root that is used medicinally, it's the seeds. Bull thistle (Cirsium) and Milk thistle (Silybum) are two different genii... so they won't have the same properties.
