Looking for Coleus Cuttings

Lomita, CA(Zone 10a)

I am looking for cuttings from kiwi fern, trailing plum and copper coleus. I can offer scented geranium (pelargonium) cuttings in return or send a SASBE.

I have Kiwi fern and one called Copper Queen, is that one you are looking for. I have others, I can send names tomorrow. Let me know what scents you have in geraniums.

I have Kiwi Fern (stained glass), Alabama Sunset, Molten Lava, Red Ruffles, and Cranberry Salad. No rooted cuttings though. But I can cut and you can root!

Lomita, CA(Zone 10a)

Yup, woodthrush, that's the one.

Woodthrush and Thrips...I'd love to have whatever cuttings you both can spare. I have to ask that you mark them as I am an idiot when it comes to coleus (just getting started with these). For trade, I have the following SG cuttings to offer:

Strawberry
Mint Rose
Lady Mary
Rollinson's Unique
Wildwood Rose
Fringed Apple
Angel
Finger-bowl Lemon
Ginger
Orange
Apricot
I;'ll have more to offer within the next week. Please let me know which ones you would like and if you are in the exchange. Thanks!

OK. I'll make you up a package and ship Monday. Is your address in the exchange? Mine is. I don't have any scented geraniums at all so feel free to send whatever you want. Maybe start me off with the easiest to root and grow. I will try to get at least 4 good cuttings from each of the colius I mentioned above. I think I have at least 2 other types that I will send also. Do you like Perilla? They are pretty foliage like Colius. I have the regular purple type that was in Southern Living and I have a brand new one that is not yet released called Vanilla Perilla. Cute name. It is green with vanilla white accents in the leaves.

I'd love to try the Perilla, too! I'll clip a bunch of SG cuttings for you and send them off early in the week. Thanks so much! And, yes, I'm in the exchange!

Woodthrush, can we do the same?

Hey Barb. I have never sent any cuttings. Do you have the link for how to cut and ship?
Robin

I haven't done this with coleus but it is my understanding they should work the same way? Clip a good size cutting (4"-5" if possible). Wrap the ends in paper towel that has been moistened and squeezed out. Wrap that in plastic wrap or baggie, covering only the towel. Secure with tape or rubberband. Mark, because i have no idea one from the other. Roll in newspaper and set in a box that has wadded paper around them.

My SG cuttings ship beautifully this way...

Barb, I'll be glad to send you some coleus cuttings.... I have a couple of colors of trailing coleus, including one that looks a lot like the Purple Plum I saw in a catalog the other day. They root readily in water. My plants should start shooting up any time now, and then I'll be able to take a bunch of cuttings. LMK if you want them asap or with the SG swap stuff.

Lomita, CA(Zone 10a)

In the SG swap will be fine and thanks! I need all I can get for our new "meadow" (say it with me like "in the ghetto...." from the Elvis song)

Woodthrush, I can only offer cuttings from teh scented geraniums above as my newest ones won't yield any more for a bit. I have other things on my trade list and some not listed there yet. LMK what you are looking for.

Ely? Did you get my email?

Hello,
I'm sorry I didn't check this thread lately. My friend told me this am there was a post for me. We had a slightly motorcycle accident memorial weekend and I've been just puttering around the last ten days. If you are still interested, I can send the cuttings. Any of your scented geraniums would be fine. I'll send you an email with my mailing address. Again, I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner.

No problem, Pam. Hope all is well with you. Got your email and replied earlier.
