Amazing flowers, aren't they?

Northern California, United States(Zone 9a)

hey, looks like you made it to SF to see it! I had printed out the link you posted with the intent of perhaps going on Monday but then hubby agreed to dig up a couple of roses I have been asking for a while so we ended working in the garden all day. This shot is like being there though, thanks for sharing it!

Wow, wow, wow! Great photo of a wonderful plant...I love the whole room it is in.
For sale, or just for show?

Fremont, CA(Zone 9a)

This plant and the smaller one to the left belong to the University of California, Davis. They were on loan to the San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers. I have only seen it advertised once, and that was at $100. It is from Sumatra (becoming endangered) and definitely needs hothouse care. The building is amazing, be sure to visit, if you ever get a chance.

What a beautiful conservatory. Perhaps one day I will indeed get to see it...maybe the titan arum as well!
Thanks for posting the pictures.

A little mental jogging and I finally remembered where I saw this available to purchase http://www.plantdelights.com/Catalog/Current/Detail/01775.html If you have never received one of Plant Delights catalogs, you have missed a great adventure. Definitely to drool over, but not for those of us who are faint of wallet.

Great info on the hyperlink site for those wanting more knowledge of this plant; thanks!
(Actually, I already had that company in my Favorites list...but I never thought to look for the titan arum). I did feel faint after thinking about spending $70 on a plant that would probably require 15 foot ceilings to grow; could get VERY expensive.
