I accidently killed my seedlings. I can't wait another year to see these flowers. Anybody? Somebody?
CLOSED: Help! Needed: Cardinal Flower (Lobelia cardinalis)
Unfortunately the ones I tried to start this winter did not fare too well. I don't think they really flower till the second year anyway, right?
I may have to find a few of these in the wild.
Can a clump be divided?
dunno...but I want me some flowers! boohoooo

Let me see about propogation and maybe I can helpie you out. :)

Pleaasseeeeeeeee
I'll think about it. bwah ahaha hah ha
Let me see if I can get out there tomorrow and whack you off a chunk. :)
Whooops! I don't have anything on your want list. I have "Rose Queen" and "Victoria Blue" Salvia???? And I have seeds of Weeping Buddleja -
Rostrinucula dependens???????
I don't bother with that list. LOL I actually purposely took most of the stuff of my have list but have not updated my wish list. I don't know what I want anymore??? I have been known to jot down neat things I see on a piece of paper, to never see the paper again. I like elephant ears, bananas, sun coleus, weird annuals anything I don't have.
is this the vine?
I've been trying to kill mine--not sure if I was successful this last time, but I can check for you.
Upright plant, with bright, bright red flowers. Hummers love it. See link above. :)
Sending you mail Michele...
I need more list Badseed. I need to find something to send you. Want a Legousia?
LOL Kim! I wondered where you ran off to. I told you, you can just let me know what you have too much o and I am sure I can find something. I am easy, just don't want anything I already have. :) I have Legousia. LOL
Want a Deep Yellow Datura?
Want to smack me? Got it. LOL Hey, I have a thought. Did your bananas from seed do any good? Mine still have not sprouted. I finally found something I cannot grow from seed! I tried two different kinds, one bought from Parks. Nothing, nada! :( I cannot grow banana from seed!
I didn't dig my plants..Whoops! You could of had them...Besides Banana what else do you like?
Kim you need to hop in your car and take a quick trip to Medford. I'm just about 45 min. outside of Philly. I'll hook you up. :)
I need somebody to hook me up! LOL LOL
Kimmie/Michele,
I can dig up a banana pup, (unnamed but edible, chiquita type) if Michelle would like one. Kim & I can work out something later. I also have EE starts, common coleus, costus spicatus, snail vine,
yellow plummies.
Jan
That sounds great! Thanks so much Jan.
What ya think Michele? Jan will send you the Banana for me...
I take exception to the plantsfiles about where it likes to grow. I got mine out of a ditch which was wet all the time. So if the ground you plant them in is a bit boggy, they'll be fine.
I had a terrible accident when I dug my first ones. At that time, there wasn't a ligst of illegal plants to dig. So I saw them along a roadside one day when I was delivering trout to a restaurant. The next day I brought a shovel. I got down to the ditch, stuck my shovel in and put my weight behind and sunk in mud up to my hip! Right by the road with cars going by and people staring!
Jan, you are so bad! Why won't you let me give Kim a hard time?? LOL Is the nana a quick grower, colorful, can I bring it in over the winter? Just checking. :)
I actually dug the plant up last night and a big chunk just seperated off. I figured it was an Omen. I swear I heard 'Kiiiiimmmmmm' come ringing from the ground. LOL
Wood, mine were growing in a mix of clay, topsoil and pea gravel. I moved them from my first pond to my second pond. Yesterday I moved them to an area with more soil and sand which used to be around an old pool. I love these plants! The hummers love these plants!
It is a very quick grower but pretty plain in color, just green. I may have some other pups with color but can't guarantee edibility. If it's just for decor, they would be fine. I'll have to wade through the "jungle" and look for pups.
Jan...
Jungle...ha ha ha ha
When I grow up, I want a jungle! LOL I have to drag them in and out and probably will never see anything edible until I get the heck out of Ohio or get a monster greenhouse. I tried to grow two different ones for the pretty flowers but the seeds didn't do anything. Man! I'd be thrilled with any. Colorful leaves or flowers would be awesome! Kim is getting her Lobelia cuz I think she is a nice kid. LOL Can I send you something too?

I edited that post because apparently I have gotten too much sun. LOL I am sure it is not the *lemonade*. :) Jan, would you like any seed dahlias, blackberry lily, gourds, etc, etc, etc??
Well, just got home and it's pouring down in buckets so my excursion will have to wait.
I'm good for seeds. Probably more than I'll ever grow in my lifetime.
I probably won't get it out till Monday. I won't have time to dig until the weekend.
Are you looking for anything else? Kimmie has lots of plants to trade
Jan...
Oh, I don't have seeds, I have dahlias from seed. Everything I have is plants. :) Kim oughta send me a list! Kim, where is my list?? LOL I will be posting a trade list myself soon. I have too many: hyacinth bean vines, red moonflower vines, I think reg moonflower vines, seed dahlias, grape tomatoes, gourds, etc.
Okkkk. Now we have to find some goodies for Jan. I'll go check her want list.
:-D
Hmmmmm...No want list. I'll find something...he he he
You know me Kim. Anything perienniel or tropical that can survive the heat and sun is good for me.
Still pouring cats & dogs here but did get a pic of this nanner in pot. Plain green
and edible.
Ohhhh Nice! You like Michele?
I thought you were asking her is she likes me! LOL It's a cutie! Don't you have anything with bananas on it? snicker snicker guffaw snort hehe
I started to post this one thinking it was a nanner. Good thing I put my glasses on.
It's a curcuma When my curcumas go dormant for winter, the pots do double duty, in this case, starting some coleus seeds. Guess it's time to move them to make way for the curcumas
Jan...
PS, I Have painted the house since this was taken (lol).

Hah haaaaa!
Hmmm...I have to find something that likes heat and sun.
Well the Marigold Bush has it's first flower bud..I'm waiting with bated breath! LOL. I couldn't find anymore seeds, but I'll have some from the first flower soon. The white snowball hybrid has a bud too. I'm getting impatient..I wanna see flowers! he he he
This Spanish Brocade is starting to open.
Jan, are you on brugs? LOL I mean, do you do brugs? Wanna grow a brug or 2? Or do you already do? Too much cat in the hat? I have to laugh about your painting comment. I snapped a pic of a brug in bloom day before last and didn't realize until I downloaded, right behind it was the part of the deck where I removed benches and part is white paint, part is stained red and another part was naked wood. Umm, I did not post that one. I do miss all those cement and stucco houses down there.
