Freesia Help

Royston, GA(Zone 7b)

I would post a picture, but its too late at night for me to be able to. I planted several freesia bulbs in a bed that is elevated and drains well. But..even though they are blooming, they are all flopping over. Is that normal? The foilage doesn't stay up do to the weight of the flowers.

Is this normal? Is there anything I can do for them to help stand up?

Yes this is normal. Growers who grow them in greenhouses for the flowers have a raster that they increase the height on as they grow taller to keep them up. So in the garden you would need a wheel with spikes to keep them up.

Thanks! I was starting to get worried. I think they look pitiful =(

I will have to get some of those wire supports next year if they come back. They are too big right now as it is for any support.
