I have asked this in another forum. Has anyone made tea for your garden pests from Tomato leaves and what kind of results have you had. Thanks Txsdar
Tea made from Tomato Leaves
hiya txsdar, check this out. I'm not exactly sure which alkaloid have been isolated as having an insecticidal activity, yet Solanacaea is filled with genera and species that have varying levels of toxic compounds including some tryptophan which explains the tendency for this spray to lure beneficial Tricogramma pretiosum braconid parasitoid wasps to the sprayed plants.
best,
Don

I sprayed some yesterday, didn't dilute it. But got lots of unexpected rain today, so will try again later...
I have re-sprayed after MOST rains (had a lot lately), and is eems to be very effective. The only bugs I have found were one bean beetle on the tomato, no less! One cabbage looper on a cabbage, and several harlequin bugs ONLY on the bok choy, which I haven't sprayed, because it is done and just going to seed now.
Anyone else?
