I've decided to go back to school in the fall for a 3 quarter horticulture course. Then after I am working, I may continue and go further. I had to get something to do besides sit at a computer all day (I am a former secretary). My fibromyalgia does not allow me to sit around. I have to be active to not be in pain (quite opposite of most conditions).
I've decided that since I will probably have to do reports and field tests, and I'm going to use the Brugmansia for mine since I've learned so much about them and they are easy to propagate. So you people get ready for questions and pics!
It was Dave's Garden that got me motivated to do this. I was actually thinking about it before the Fibro set in so I guess this was nature's way of telling me I had the right idea in the first place and gave me the nudge.
GOING BACK TO SCHOOL!
Thanks Julie! Oh that kitten is just adorable! :-)
LOL :-) I think she is too hehehe
Expanding your education is a wonderful decision!! Good luck!!
Best of luck to you! You'll get to stretch your muscles and your mind. :-)

Maybe that I'm turning 40 soon has something to do with this too - mid-life crisis. NOT.
Good for you Karrie, that will be interesting.
Karrie...what a wonderful thing to do for yourself and others!!! I hear you...I had FM for a number of years off and on...couldn't sail because I couldn't hold a line! Good on ya! Be sure to remember all your new knowledge to share with us when you come home in the evenings!!!
Aloha - from what I have been told FM never goes away - it's just easier to control when you get the right doctors and therapists. I haven't been to my physical therapist for 2 months or so now and I am continuing the exercise he gave me which involves a roll and a neck traction I purchased from him.
But FM kicks in on me even if I sleep wrong. I have had a huge pain (and I know this is going to sound funny, but it's the truth) in my right butt cheek for 2 weeks now. What I did to cause this I do not know. It's not the gludus maximus (sp?) as I know how that feels like. It has fatigue associated with it and that is why I think it is the FM. Seems to go along with it.
The more knowledge shared (especially with doctors) the better. It is still a science in the making.
I hope you feel better Karrie soon and sure sounds like a fun course to take. I would love to go back for this too!
:-) you can, you know! :-) we can be study buddies.
kell...I looked into classes last year and learned that Foothill College has some on horticulture...
Good for you Karrie...education never hurts...I got my MA @ 51...keeps you young!
Margie
I wish my brain would function again. I think it is lost cause. Karrie, you would have teo let me cheat. LOL
Good for you Margie. I do not think I could do that.
Kell - you already have a golden thumb! You'd do great in these kinds of classes! People like us have that little extra backing - hopefully not enough to get us into trouble however! ;-)
Good luck with it
and you picked a great field of study!!!!
