OK so I have been reading over your shoulders for a long time now but was in the process of moving and getting settled and all that sort of thing .....finally got around to paying my dues so I could actually visit with all of you.
The specifics are...Little old Lady and husband who have retired and moved to TX...not originally from TX but lived here long enough to call it home...We have 5 acres in the TX hill country Kerrville to be exact and are in the process of getting settled...You would think at my age and with all my infirmities, I'd just give up gardening but just cannot get it out of my system. Wehn I was 9 years old my Mother gave me a package of poppy seed and helped my make a garden bed for them...I was hooked after that...I'm proud to say that I did the same for my daughter and while I'm in TX and she is in CT, she has a garden in her back yard too...
I am concentrating on veggies at the moment because it was easier to do than get with the landscaping...heck I don't even have grass yet around the construction area but hopefully by the end of the week the grass seed will be popping...any way...between us we have 3 daughters and 1 son and grandkiddos and even greatgrandkiddos...love them all in small doeses but the peace and quite when they leave is wonderful..
My husband is so hoping to have time to do all those things that working kept him from doing but so far we have been so busy we haven't had a lot of down time...I'll show you pictures of my garden soon...It's texas pasture land but looks pretty good for a first season garden...I just love growing things and can always find a place for one more plant...
