Need some info on Crinum Lily.
TropicMan gave me some starts that are doing well in pots. Want to get them transplanted in the yard and need to know where to put them and any special needs.
Soooooo excited!!!

Crinum Lily
Full sun, ample moisture, Mine did as well in TN clay as they do in TX delta soil.
They aren't particular, really, I have crinums here planted all over, wet places (well, not sopping wet but moist), dry places, shady places, they all do okay, they are pretty tough.
I planted some crinums a few years ago and it has never bloomed. Any suggestions? I have some in the same area as my Amaryllis belladonna so I think it gets enough sun since the belladonnas bloom every year. Does it have to several years old to bloom?
Crium lilies grow in the ditches around here, soisandup. Your crinum may have needed more water,
will crinums live in tn?

I read on a forum here before not to move them until after they bloom. I have some that I was having some work done in the yard and I took them and just laid them on the ground with intentions of replanting them in a few days. Well it took longer to get the yard done than I thought and they bloomed laying on top of the ground.
I find it eaiser to move them in early spring than anytime. but who ever wants them I will dig them up right there on the spot."meaning if you are at my house and I have a shovel in my hand I will dig them for you" ....... I need to get the RU to them. just the white seven sisters, one...

3rd year in pots
Wow, now I know what my mystery crinum is - seven sisters!! Hey, all you gals that I gave these to last year, now we have a name for them!!
Roz, mine are doing great! I moved crinums when we moved from TN in the middle of winter, then this spring I moved them again. They're still blooming. The ones that get lots of water bloom more than the ones that are in a really dry area.
