HOME DEPOT NOTICE

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

The homedepot on I35 and Beltline in Desoto TX has tons of bulbs at halk price( they just opened and shippend them a full shipment). Lilies, cannas, glads, etc. I picked up (dont look frostweed they are not native) Elephant Ears for 1.5 and growing Agapanthus for 2. They said they will cut more some time next week... to late to plant some of these but you could trade them norht. Lots of daylilies and or lilies, some tigers, callas, - I know I know these are not the best quality but no shipping and low cost I can risk a few. Mitch

Yeah, Mitch, I wouldn't be able to resist either. It's probably a good thing that it isn't anywhere near me!

I know I stood there and said these may not come up and blooms this year no way but - droooooooooolllllllllllll running like crazy. Had to do it - Mitch

Mitch you are so funny, I do have some plants that are not native, so I am not totally against them. I think they are beautiful too, we just have to learn what works best for us, and do our thing, but you are very sweet to think of me.
Josephine.

Josephine - I know you have a few, I tried - I said what would frostweed do? but then I melted had to get a few of them.... only got those two though - was really proud of myslef. They also have Texas Laural for 18.00 and Desert Willow for 18.00

Mitch, I'll have to check out the Home depots here. I would love to obtain more Tulip clusiana var. 'Chrysantha' species tulips. They are small plants with grassy grey-green foliage and nice blooms that I found did not have to be chilled. They naturalize here in Texas which few tulips do. They are not as "showy" as regular tulips. The blooms are star-shaped. I planted some as a test this year and they did very well. I wish I had planted desert willows when I first landscaped my yard. Now, I have no room for them. Thanks for informing us about the sale.

htop,
I have some of the tulips that you are looking for. I put them in last fall and ended up digging them up in the spring because DH wanted to change the beds. I only got one flower from them (probably a combination of our weird winter and operator error). I took them out of the bed and potted them. They have not bloomed this year and I don't expect them to, but I am letting what little foliage there is dieback. I'm not sure how many there are exactly and can't guarantee how they will do for you, but you are welcome to them for postage (which won't be much since as you know, the bulbs are very small). I also have some crocus bulbs. I don't remember which variety, but I can look it up. These have died back and the foliage has been removed. LMK.

Sheila
