I have toadlilies I can trade for the purple allium bulbs. How fast do they multiply? Do they HAVE to have 8 hours of sun a day to bloom? And, when do they bloom? My mom would like these and her birthday is coming up next month.

These allium bulbs have already bloomed this year..It seems they come up about the same time as tulips but take longer to bloom. Right now they are huge spikes with seed pods on them. They are in the sun but do not get 8 hours of sun. But I am not the expert here on plants...I plant them and if they grow they grow. Oh, and the ball sizes above are the flower size not the bulb size...hope I didn't mislead you. Just let me know if they sound like what you might like...Janetlee
