After trying some Messenger I now have hoyas that have never bloomed before starting to bloom. Here is a picture of my hoya shepherdii's first bloom.
Hoya shepherdii
That is terrific, Marilyn!! Does it smell wonderful? I am moving mine closer to the bedroom window to see if it will be happier in more light and bloom for me!

I haven't noticed much of a smell yet as it's still opening. By the way Carol what type of lighting does a Kerri like?
I saw pictures David Liddle took of H. kerrii growing on the trunk of a tree above low shrubs. It was growing on the shady side of the tree, but the light was intense!!! The leaves, of course, looked awful. Mine grows in filtered sun, bright indirect light: blooms intensely!!!

Well...when I went to jostle Ms. H. shephardii out of her slumber, I turned the plant and the whole back side....facing the shadier part of the area...was covered with blooms! Go figger! I can't move her now.

Looks like H. shepherdii is blooming for all of us right now. I am waiting for buds to open on both of my plants. One is in the dappled sun under my pecan tree. The other is under the roof of my shade house which takes some intense bright light mid afternoon.
Ditto on the Messenger Marilyn. I wasn't convinced at first but I will be purchasing more before the supply gets low.
About to bust: H. cummingiana, H. pubicalyx Red Buttons, H. multiflora variegated, H shepherdii, H sp. Laos x Vittelina, H. kerrii.
Peduncles forming on H. caudata recieved from Gemila a year or so ago.
And low and behold, DH found seed pods on the H. pubicalyx Pink Silver.
Kewl! I only get pods on my H. australis! and one little dischidia always blooms and always has pods!!! I hung H. cumingiana outside the bedroom window and it smells SO fantastic at night! I must say, the Messenger has brought a lot of stubborn ones out - and those that had a few blooms last year are covered with them!!!
Yippeeeeee
Carol
