My father. Daddy was an Army doctor, served during WW II. At one point during the war he followed Patton's push through Africa, tending to the wounded. The Army became a carreer, and Daddy retired to private practice as a psychiatrist in 1965. He died of cancer in 1979, is buried in the National Cemetery in Pineville, LA (where he last lived.) Last Friday (May 27th) was the 92nd anniversary of his birth. He was and is a hero to me. I still miss him.
Who do you remember?
On Memorial Day, I remember...
Maggiemoo, this is a very special day for you. It looks like your father was a wonderful person.
Love, Josephine.
My Uncle John was in the 101st Airborne, Screaming Eagles during WWII.
I remember my grandpa Robert S Jones, Sr Master Sgt, USAF. I wasn't close to him during my young years (he travelled a lot because of his military career) but became so towards his last years. Great man, dedicated son, husband, patriot, grandpa.
I remember my late husband, Quinter Phillip Gerhart, who like his father, Quinter Paul Gerhart, was a career pilot in the USAF. Phil flew in Vietnam and his father in WWII. Both men were dedicated servants of their country.
We can because they do....
