There are hundreds of these in a low-lying area next to my pasture. They get to be 6-8 feet tall. Looking through my books I think it is a New York Ironweed. Does anyone know?

It looks like ironweed to me. Type ironweed in google and click images. This will show you a variety of plants to help you.
