Ok I'm 99% sure this is cv Christine:-). Anywho it bloomed this morning.
Blessings,
Awanda
cv Christine blooms
Yup...looks like her! Blooms last very well, too....Congratulations...you are really getting bloomers!
Carol
Nice one Awanda. It sure has been a good spring for Hoya blooms!
NB I agree with you. This is the first time in three years I've had so many hoyas bloom!
Blessings,
Awanda
Was that one named after Christine Burton?
Marcy
Yes.
But, then again....the world is full of other Christines who are as lovely and generous as this Hoya.
That's true. I also think someone should name a lovely generous one "Hoya cv Awanda". :-)
Agreed! ;>)
Aw Marcy that is the nicest compliment I've received in a loooooong time:-). Thank you!!
Blessings,
Awanda
Isn't it fun seeing so many blooms, Awanda? A surprise awaits you around every corner. A nice compliment for a nice lady, Awanda.
Though I am inclined to do so, I will not touch the not so nice comment about Christine.
Awanda, You GROW girl! A very lovely plant with a lovely name!
What are the parent plants of this one?
A lovely generous lady named Christine gave me cuttings of a Hoya obscura cross that looks simular foliage wise to Awandas cv. 'Christine'!
I'll peek at the ID tag next time I go to the GH.
Chris Burton may be grouchy at times but I think it's crazy to imply she is not generous. I remember her GIVING Melanie, Carol, Melissa, Sunshine & Barb from GW & I, copies of her book "Hoya's I Know and Love". I also remember she refused any thing in return as far as money, Hoyas ect.... that ANY of us offered!
Girls Girls Girls -
I would never imply on this forum, much less write, anything negative about Christine Burton. Yes it WAS named Christine...after Christine Burton. The question was asked of me by Ceedub whose name is Christine. There ARE many other (other than, as well as, inclusive of) lovely people named Christine. I think you are trying to read too much into a very simple statement. To say others are lovely and generous does not negate anything. Sorry for the misunderstanding I created. ;>)
So glad you got a cutting of that H. obscura cross. Is it the cross with H. lacunosa? It is one of my very faves - I gave it to Mrs. Burton and the name is H. cv. Sunrise.
