It looks pretty darn clear to me Diane! Beautiful bloom! Will look forward to seeing your open flower.

Wow, a red hoya!! Since you say your picture is not clear and the flower is not completely open, I shall wait with baited breath for your next picture.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!
What have you got that hanging on? Does it hang there ordinarily? Looks like it is out in full sun.

I am green with envy. I have a H. megalaster...but it keeps blooming from the same darn peduncle over and over and over....and it never grows! In order for it to grow, I have to cut off the peduncle...and I am loathe to do it...like cutting off life. OH well, I'll get Bob to do it....

Carol...are you saying small plants don't grow well if they have peduncles on them? I have some cuttings that have them, but never really thought about it affecting their growth.

Carol, My Meglaster is growing under 50 percent shade cloth but there are a bunch of I call them Shark tooth cactus growing on top of it so it's getting really more shade.Plus it's being watered everyday. When I first got it,it had one leaf forming and it stayed small the new leaf. Then it grew out two much larger leaves. While the buds were forming it was also sending out another pair of leaves. I guess it likes a lot of shade..

Marcy my husband put it on the arbor to take pictures he is too tall to walk around in the greenhouse and take pictures. All of my plants are hanging.

Carol when yours blooms are they the same color flower?

Happy Growing!!

Marcy...mine has a peduncle where the stem should be...and it doesn't grow any further than just a new umbel.

Yes, they are all the same color...but more of a maroon red than yours. The flash makes mine look more bright red than they really are. http://www.bigislandgrowers.com/AHcomp/AHmega1.php
