Thank the Lord! The rain finally came!

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

Well I missed most of the rain late Thursday but awoke this morning to the sound of thunder and heavy rainfall. So glad all the plants got a soaking. My hose and I have been doing far too much watering this year (lol).

Send it south! We are cloudy, but no rain yet.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

Yes it is great to get the rain today. With the hose it is hard to get water to the corners and edges, but the rain reaches everywhere. Too wet to work outside, so no reason not to tackle the overdue tasks inside. (Ugh!)

Burleson, TX(Zone 8a)

It came to my house! It's rained a lot...so much now that I think it needs to stop. My stuff was so in need of a GOOD soak tho. I'm hoping it will run off a lot of my bugs that have been thriving on the dry heat. I've been forced to do those indoor tasks too.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

We finally got some rain too, here in Arlington, about a very much needed 1/2 inch.
I am hoping for more.

Midland, TX(Zone 7b)

Okay now, it has rained here on Thursday. They are putting a new roof on the school where I work and it was like Niagra Falls inside.

It rained on Friday. (my 1st day of summer vacation)

It has poured today. We have tickets to the baseball game tonight!

Gordonville, TX(Zone 7b)

0.27" here and still raining!

Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

I think we got about 2 inches today.

Gordonville, TX(Zone 7b)

We have had 0.68". Still raining.

Midland, TX(Zone 7b)

Well, it quit raining for the baseball game. We froze to death, though. It is supposed to rain again tonight.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

Raining again right now. Lots and lots of rain. JuBabe it was cold tonight in Midland?

Midland, TX(Zone 7b)

63 degrees was cold when sitting out at a baseball game.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

sounds nice lol. Its been running low 90's all week. How'd the game go? I grew up in Sanderson and we use to drive up to Midland/Odessa for fun. My sister teaches school there now.

Midland, TX(Zone 7b)

Midland Rockhounds won! 3 to 2 against the Arkansas Travelers. It was a good game.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

Two good rains in two days - whee! Pleasantly cool out today - and with softened soil, even pulling weeds was fun.

Dallas, TX(Zone 8a)

I grew up in Midland and when I read "we used to drive to Midland/Odessa for fun" I laughed out loud! As a teenager we saw NOTHING fun about it. But if anyone else dares to knock Midland I get all defensive. Ha! :)

Well, in spite of the promised sporadic thundershowers, I had only a couple of drops a couple of times yesterday, and right now there are the sporadic "spits" of a few drops. It gets all cloudy, you can hear thunder, and then nothing.... then the sky clears up and the sun is out again!

But it has been a little cooler today.

Gordonville, TX(Zone 7b)

1.60" rain yesterday. Overcast all day, some thunder, no rain today.

Midland, TX(Zone 7b)

10pm and it smells like rain outside.

Conroe, TX(Zone 9a)

Okay, we did finally get a consistant mist for about 30 mintues, enough to dampen things a little. It stopped, but it would sure be nice if it picked up again and just did that all night. Light, soft rain, nice and easy, long enough to just soak in. I'll try to dream about it tonight so I'll feel good in the morning. (I'm really living a fantasy life here lately.)

Port Lavaca, TX(Zone 9a)

We got a little rain Thur am, Sat night and it has been raining some tonight. Thank goodness, I thought the hose was an extension of my arm!

I sure was glad it missed the graduation ceremonies we went to. When our grandson graduated from Dickinson HS 2 years ago we had to go to our cars and take cover. 45 minutes later we came back and finished, minus the speeches, but they could get graduated!

New Braunfels, TX(Zone 8b)

It just came a down poor at my house (still raining as a matter of fact). We have had heavy rain everyday since Thursday. It's wonderful...my plants love it!

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

We've had 0.8" of rain. Here we are in the middle of Burmuda Triangle of sorts. Rain goes past us in every direction, just not over us. Nice display of lightening in the distance. It did manage to lower the temperature.

Auburn, AL(Zone 8a)

Rained for most of the night last night in the Golden Triangle but without any of the high winds we had several days ago. The yard needed it but my tomato plants could have done without. Weather.com say's about an inch today with the high's being 80 with 93% humidity...YIKES!! Can we say sauna

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

We got rain last night!! Yippee. Of course we got wind and thunder with it. It thundered so loud two times it made the dishes rattle in the cabinets.
I knew it would rain, I washed my car!

Conroe, TX(Zone 9a)

Well, we still seem to be getting mainly "dampness". Today it is actually full-fledged overcast, and once in a while there is something less than even a mist. Under the trees it is still bone dry, and in the open, the soil just around (under the wider rims) of the containers is still dry. Still, it is cooler, and there's something to say for the humidity to be laying down on the ground rather than suspended in the air. It's quite pleasant to stroll around the yard.
