Wow! I wonder if the volume of traffic increases along this road while this rose hedge is in bloom? That is very, very pretty.
Are the "palm-looking" trees screwpines?
Edited to say the trees I am asking about are in the other picture of this hedge, sorry!

there are a lot of rose hedges, road side of the vineyards, down Dog Point Road.

The trees are native , Cordyline australis.

The hedges are wonderful, Valarie! I would be out driving around all the time with the camera, and getting out to smell them, too.
I looked up the Cordyline australis; thanks for the name.

Most of the columbine seeds you sent me sprouted (7 of the 8 kinds) and the white lychnis. The lunaria and policeman's helmet did not sprout but I saved some of the seeds and will try again later under different germination conditions. I am really looking forward to seeing the columbines bloom!

throw the Lunaria and Policemans helmet into the garden, they need no special attention, to many can selfsow here.

Okay, I will try that. Thanks.
