Japanese Morning Glory 'Mt.Fuji Pale Purple' (Ipomoea nil)

Netcong, NJ(Zone 5b)

This a very pleasing photo that looks much more blue than purple and curiously is lacking the characteristic white flower fold rays...I think I saw this 'appellation' advertised on e-bay...;

I really like this flower. I think it is miss named by who ever grew it in the first place. All blooms are like this and none have the ray, so I don't think it is "Mt. Fuji". I have another that looks about the same but i think it also is mislabled so I won't add more fuel to the flame. I hope to later find out what this is..............you know the longer you grow these the more you see what you "Don't Know and Thought you Did".................LOL

I have this one flowering now, and it has slight spokes in the corolla. It is very nice, I like it a lot. I will try to get a picture of it tomorrow.

I will be waitning to see it Joe......

Here it is, Dee. I guess maybe the seller on eBay thought it was purple, but I agree with Ron, it is a pleasant blue color until later in the day.

Wow Joseph, I love it. It is just beautiful and I hope you get lots of seed. It does have a hint of blue but not as much as mine did. I see the purple in it and I think it is just beautiful. Wow again.....

I see it too, Dee. I tell you, in real life under real sunlight it seems more blue than purple. Maybe we can do a trade at seasons' end? Have a great weekend!

You to Joe and yes I will be looking forward to the trade. That would be wonderful and we would both have something different.
Thanks again.
Dee

Here is another shot of this great vine.
