Hi! My Aunt grows AV's, as do I, and she asked me if I'd ever come across this problem (I hadn't): She says the leaves, when they come up thru the middle, instead of opening up like usual, are in a hard "clump". They never open or get bigger, just a hard clump. I've not seen these or had any myself...but I thought I'd ask "the experts" and see what kind of advice I got. ;)

Bunched up leaves can be a result of 2 different things that come to my mind...One is too much light for too many hours-
(I have several of those lil darlings...lol) the other can be a type of mite, and you can not see them without a microscope.
I could be the type of plant it is too. I have a few Mini's that grow straight up in the air and are pretty tight centered if I don't pay attention to the amount of light they get.
