I thought for sure when this "Maki" started showing varigation it was because I brought it in for the winter and the light it was getting was mostly from a uv bulb for the frog tank, I had it sitting right next to it. Well here is the first leaf of the season and its showing even more. I bought it as a solid green upright in a bag but after about 5 leaves this is what its been doing. I hope it dosnt stop.

I think it is going to bloom for you,if so,save the pollen from it. You are pretty lucky,this is a great looking plant!
OMG Are you serious?!?! Ive never ever had one bloom for me. Oh my talk about a premature happy dance here, this is just way too cool if thats what it is. I will definatly keep a closer eye on it now.

Here's mine we spoke of this morning. This was the cut rate price and I think I got the best deal because of all the pups in the pot.
BTW, the insulation is in and it's cooling down a lot in here.
Now I have to go out and do some transplanting etc.

How's your weather today Molly? It's raining cats and dogs (and thundering and lightning too) in South Miami-Dade so I had to cut my gardening short. And I left work early today too... :(

The sun is shining brightly and hot hot hot. I shut the a/c off when the insulation was being blown in. The front door was open with that big fat hose coming into the attic.
It got hot pretty fast, but much better now. I'm tempted to stay in just a bit longer until the sun hits those trees across the street. Probably just as well, the new plants will suffer lots transplanting in the heat of the day.
I know, I shall make a list of ALL the things I need to do, after 4:00.

P.S. Did you know Fairchild is having a Cactus and Succulent Show and Sale on Saturday? I'm thinking of going. Hate to spend any more money on plants, but hey, you only live once.........right?

I had to go out into the bad weather. I'm happy to be home now and the sun is shining a little bit.
I decided to skip the Cactus and Succulent Show and Sale so that I can work in the yard and maybe visit some plant nurseries. If you decide to go, have a great time and take lots of pictures if you can.

I was planning on going out in the yard and work at 4:00. The storms hit. It's better now and a bit cooler so I can get some work done now.
