What do you think of this bonus? =)

Edmond, OK(Zone 7a)

I bought a Hoya on ebay and it arrived with all the dirt re-arranged. As I was taking the hoya out of the basket this bonus jumped out at me and nearly made me jump!!

Well as long as you didn't have to pay "extra" for it:-). I'm sure you were just as surprised as it was.

AHHHH, he is a little bug eater for your other Hoyas! He is too sweet! Looks like a great bonus to me!!

After I calmed down and realized what it was, I thought he was a cutie! He was just a little unexpected that's all! :D

I love it when they sing at night...sort of a light chirp like a bird. Lucky you! Where did your ebay buy come from?

At least you know your hoya received enough oxygen for it's travels! Lol!

What a cutie! Have you named him? Or just let him join the wilds of OK?

Your frog is allot more dainty than the ones in my yard. I swear my pond frogs bark like dogs and the little tree frogs chirp like little birds! They start singing at night and we get a kick out of the different pitches of their croaks. It is like a backyard symphony, but, WAY off key!

Ah yes....frog songs at night. Gosh, I almost forgot about those. I used to hear those in Indiana in the summer time too. However, after moving to S. Calif. all I ever hear at night is crickets. Ha. I don't ever see lightning bugs here either. :-(
See, there are lots of good things I had to give up to move here.

Carol, he came with an 8" basket of Hoya pachyclada from Florida.

I'm sure he was as startled as I was, after 2 days in a box on the move! I think he was too tired to chirp, he just looked at me. I let him go after I took a couple of pics to remember him by. =)

From one thing to another, could someone pls tell me what light/water conditions the pachyclada likes? Similar care as the subquintuplinervis?

Thanks!

Yes, very similar care as H. subquintuplinervis? Don't let it dry out completely...but if you do, there is less harm...they are very hardy and considered succulent. Mine get watered with the rest of them and there is no harm. Mine have bright indirect light and they look good...too much direct light or sun gives mine wierd red splotches.

Oh, what a nice big pot of that. A bloom coming too...how neat. It is a wonder the bloom didn't blast in the mail.
I have a small one too, and have had no trouble at all with it. Mine is in a North window and gets watered with the others when starting to dry out.

Thanks guys! I'm so happy I can come here and learn from you Hoya "veterans"!

Not card carrying yet, but becoming a Hoya addict nonetheless.

What a neat surprise! I probably would have had a heart attack seeing that jump out of the container.

He's a very cute extra and probably glad to be outa that box. I wonder how he got in there unnoticed, or maybe your ebay seller has a sense of humor.

I'm fairly new to hoyas, I just have 2 and one of them has a bloom. It is a real common type (H. carnosa I believe) but I am very happy with it.
