Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Kell I wish I could ship you some of that pepto pink :) If it was hot orange, yellow or RED I'd be thrilled. It's hard to get pink to match with those three colors. And I SO love the hot colors.

I LOVE that hosta. That is the only perennial that came with the house. If I could have one plant out there I think that would be it.

Thanks for the kind words about the yard. Right now it looks like heck and I can't put my finger on what is wrong.

Deltona, FL(Zone 9a)

You have such a beautiful garden.....

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

WOW...someone has really been working HARD!!!

Beautiful!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Not enough brugs Kristi, I am sure that is the problem! LOL. I love purple, pink and orange together!

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Kell, I've planted two brugs in the front bed so far. The little short looking like death one- hey, I should have entered that in your contest- is Creamsickle. The big honking tall one is Pink Beauty. I'm wondering how she'll take to full sun all day? Can you see them?

Yes, though that rhodie is blinding. LOL. So fantastic. You have such humidity there, I bet they do OK. How hot can it get? When they bloom, the rhodie will be all green. They will really liven it up. Another great shot!!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Nah, the short Creamsickle isn't ugly enough for the contest, it might even bloom for you Kristi........if it EVER warms up!

At least you have blooms. I never knew Hosta bloomed like that, it's beautiful. My poppies and Iris are loaded, but 50 is not warm enough for any to open. Come on spring/summer, whichever can get here first.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Its beautiful!!!!

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

Kristi, your garden pictures are always just breathtaking. I really laugh to myself when you say your yard looks terrible. You put most of us to shame.

I love the pinks. I think because they are cool looking, and our summers get so hot here that the oranges, reds and bright yellows just make the yard look even hotter. The problem is that living in San Antonio, most of the nurseries after April carry nothing but the really hot colors. I guess the majority of the population here prefer those, but not me.

I even bought a big blue pot, because I loved yours so much. The only problem is that there is no hole in the bottom. I'm afraid to plant anything in it for fear it will die, so I just put a pot of torenia in it. That promptly died as well. Do yours all have drain holes in them? Also, where in the world did you find the blue rocks? They look so neat.

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

Kristi, I love your yard and how you arrange your pots....I LOVE your Rhododendrum too, it's beautiful :)

Julie

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Kell last season the ones out front didn't do very good. That bed gets full sun all day.

Gloria I've had shrubs and tree's in bloom for a good month now. It's pretty. I wish it would warm up so we could have some tropicals bloom.

CC- it's only a few small pictures. If you were to see it all together you'd shake your head. I'm SO unorganized and my plantings are starting to show. LOL

mini- A pot without a hole. Make a water garden. That is what I've done with one of mine. I'll dig up the picture. All the other pots do have holes.

Thanks Julie. The rhodie hedge in the front is getting cut way back after it blooms. Keep your fingers crossed it fills back out. It never was suppose to get so big or was it ment to live out in the yard alone. When we move in we had to take out two huge cedar trees and a monster of a pine that was dead. That rhodies were suppose to be a hedge around them.

This is so NOT the picture I was looking for This one was from my old garden a million years ago :)

Here you go Mini. There is a dwarf yellow water lily in there as well as a dwarf papyrus and two little fish. It should look pretty once the water warms up and it can grow.

gorgeous garden pics!

Thank you, kristie, I still call my birdbath 'datdog blue', it's funny that few ask what 'datdog blue' is, lol!! WOW, where in the world did you find the blue rocks??? I look for that stuff all the time, I cannot believe I've missed them, are they in specialty shops?? Your blue hosta is as pretty as your blue pot, are you using your pot for the fish?? I love my 'datdog blue' birdbath better than anything I've ever had in the yard. It is broken, broke my heart, if it breaks into, I will do whatever I have to do to get it repaired!!! Thank you for thinking of me. BTW, Walmart has some blue pots, but they are slightly off 'datdog blue'...

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

yeah, i love the rocks. (but not more than I adore your garden)

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Mini, you could drill a hole in the pot with a ceramic drill bit.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

Hmm, never heard of that kind of drill bit. I'll have to see if I can find one, because I have several pots with no holes in them. Thanks for the info.

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

mini, I got mine at Lowe's and it works great...but I try to get the pots with holes, lots of them have rubber stoppers these days...

Springfield, OH(Zone 5b)

Yes.. and they leak..lol.. ANyway Love that Hosta Datdog!! I just get a Big Daddy becasue I love those huge blue crinkly leaved hostas.. it is just a baby now but one day!!!

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

Thanks, Sherry. We have a Lowe's close to us, so I'm going there today to get one. I always try to make sure the pots I purchase have holes as well, but I just couldn't resist this blue one.

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Well, obviously I'm a fool for blue in the garden, lol, so there are some pots that do come home with me, without a hole. I found some nice blue ones at Fred's, with stoppers, but the pots cost an arm and a leg, I thought, not the typical Fred's low prices...

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

I love all of your ideas on this thread for the blue pots, wow, never thought of doing a pond with one.

I got a Rhodie in the mountains last weekend, they are everywhere and look just as gorgeous as the one you posted Kristi. I had to have one. They told me they love acidic areas and to plant on the east side of the house. I don't know if that's what I'll do with mine especially now that I see your's is doing so well in full sun. Is that one plant that has grown like that or is there others in there with it? I love that. You really have a nac for arranging, I wished you lived close by lol!

Sherry, my DIL is working temporarily while they are staying with us at Freds. I think I'll check it out and see how much they have theirs for and if they even have them. :-) Thanks sweetie!

Hugs
Julie

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

We LOVE Fred's, it's in town, the prices are very competitive and usually the lowest around. But, these blue pots were pricey. I justified it to myself, thinking that if I drove further to shop, I'd use more gas and probably bring home enough extra stuff that would run my ticket up, so I bit the bullet and bought them...good luck Julie!!!

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

The pictures are wonderful Kristi
