One of my PB cuttings is blooming today. She is my overall favorite brug of the moment:
Pink Beauty Today
Pink Beauty is always a good looker. Great pictures, Gretchen.
Shirley -- thank you!!!
It is a beauty, Gretchen.
Pink Beauty is one of my very favs too Gretchen, easy to grow and to root and isn't a bug magnet, not a fussy girl at all and, here, she and Rosamond are side by side and real competitors, both big girls, I just adore them. Your photos are super. Did you winter yours outside?? I did, so it will be a while before I get blooms. I did keep some in the bubbler, so I'm hoping they will bloom soon. I have them planted in full shade, so, I might get all foliage and no blooms...
Wow Gretchen, so pretty! And I bet it smells great too!!! I didn't have much luck with my PB last year, I'm hoping for better luck this year. I'll be pleased if I see a beautiful bloom like yours.
I love that 1st photo ... what a great shot!
Gretchen - that is an absolute beauty! VERY good name for her!
I agree with SherryLike-Pink beauty is hard to beat for a reliable bloomer, disease free, bug free plant. Also roots easy. Wish all brugs were as easy to care for and get to bloom.
Gretchen, beautiful photographs.
Wow! That re-curve is something else! Very pretty.
Beautiful blooms and pictures Gretchen.........I love the 3rd photo.
Thank you all for your kind comments! She is a gorgeous girl with a delightful scent!
Sherry -- she is a cutting that I took last fall. An odd one, because there was a pod that I was ripening (of which the seeds produced several babies). You can see some of mine that came back from the roots, and most have buds on them, so I think that for the most part I only lose one month of bloom time by leaving them in the ground, and those are much healthier and stronger than the greenhouse brugs!
Kell -- she has two splits in her calyx, on opposite sides. Amazing the difference environmental culture makes!
All brugs in this image with the exception of PB have come back from the roots:
Well, I'm green with envy Gretchen!!! I have MANY that came back from wintering outside, and some that are larger than yours but none blooming yet, drats!!! I will admit that we've had a couple of storms, wind, hail that blew off buds (not pods) and limbs and ripped up the leaves. Gretchen your porch scene is just beautiful, and your garden is truly a dream, it is sooooooo pretty and your PB photos are outstanding, WOW!!!!

Too bad you can't be sure of how cold your winter will get Gretchen. That is my problem here too. You just can't be sure.
That last picture is so delightful. I would while away my days there instead of the computer.
Sherry -- you'll have blooms before ya know it!
Kell -- so true! We never know how cold it'll be here. This year we only had three killing freezes. December 1st, and the others were in March, I think...
Here it is the ones that last awhile that do all the real damage. The last 2 years we have escaped practically all frosts. I fear one year soon we will be in big cold trouble.
that last picture is absolutely beautiful.
Gretchen, a extremely beautiful photo. Wow!!
Photo on May 23 is marvelous. Is it true that it is disease and bug free? If so, I've got to get me one of those. I love the low calyx.
Thank you all so much! That last picture is my favorite. Really kind of captures the essence of my little shade haven... It should be really nice in a month when everything is blooming and the caladium are all up...
PS -- Linda, this one is not nearly as susceptible to bugs as my yellow brugs...
