I have large canna rhizomes for trade. Would like herbs but may consider other things.
Canna (Red) for herbs
Doesn't anyone have something to trade for these great rhizomes?
I won't take offense if you want to wait a bit and see if you get a better offer :) But, If you don't get any plant offers, i have tons of herb seed.
What are you looking for specifically?
Melissa
Hey, lady. I have all the cannas I can handle right now or I'd love to help you out. As soon as I get some silver thyme rooted, I can send you some of that.
Smiln,
I just was hoping to find them a good home and get some herbs to boot. Thanks for the offer. I would like some of thyme.
How is your garden doing? My flowers are growing and some of them are starting to bloom. My Son is going to get the tomatoes planted tomorrow. It has been really cool here so haven't been in any hurry. Did you plant any veggies? I do have carrots, lettuce, dill, fennel and have melons, and squash growing in the house to get out also.
Best get doing the sweeping. ARGH I am so tired of trying to keep the house from being taken over by the dust and dirt.
Regards from a garden friend,
Diane
Diane,
I'll start another section of thyme then. I'm getting pretty good at always keeping one going at all times now. The weather here was awesome until last Friday. Everything melted after that. We set record highs for 2 or 3 days in a row. Upper 90's. My hostas are half fried and summer hasn't even started yet. Boo hoo.
The good part, though, is that the veggies are going crazy. Yellow squash (already 4" long), cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, watermelon, canteloupe, radishes, green beans, black eyed peas and some gourds. This is my first year since having Kaley that I am planting a veggie garden. I'm having so much fun. We've not had the proper space to do it before now.
When some of my herbs grow a little more, I can send some chocolate mint and greek oregano, too.
what color is the canna
i have mint
How about some oregano? Or lemon thyme? Chocolate mint? I don't have any cannas at all...

So, will they be a perennial here? Or would I have to dig them. Its been insanely cold/wet here (20 deg below seasonal avg this week!!), so my plants are a little behind. On the other hand, I have lots and lots of "clean out/cut back" projects to do around here, so its been helpful in that respect.
You'll have to dig the cannas. They will not be hardy there.
I have herbs but am not really intersted in cannas, Diane. I have rosemary (off. and prostrate), lavender(I think), sage (silver, tri-colored or purple), two kinds of oregano, tarragon, lime thyme, creeping thyme, sweet woodruff, peppermint, orange mint... I'm rooting some stevia, but it isn't ready to share just yet. Anything sound good? Have anything else for trade or we could just do postage?
Barb
