feeding your brug?

Greenback, TN

I put a miracle grow tree and shrub fertilizer spike in the pot with one of my brugs, the brug is growing much sturdier now and no fert. burn is apparent. I'm keeping a close eye on it and will let ya'll know how it turns out. These spikes are only needed twice a year too.

Tammy...how large is your container? I have no experiece with spikes, so I wonder if it will work well for brugs. Please keep us posted. It sure would be an easier way to fertilize! Where do you get them and how much do they cost for how many?

I'll be interested to see how this works. Last year I used 2 spikes and broke them in half and stuck them in with a banana tree. That thing got huge quick. And produced so many pups I couldn't count them.

I got these at wal mart, 7 for 7.99. I think my container is 20' but am not sure...I bought it at dollar general and it did not tell how big it was on the label and I am bad at guessing. I'm hoping it does well too, it will make it much easier!

Way to go girl!!! Always thinking!! We will eagerly await your results. How long has it been since you used it?

Right at a week so far...

Well, one would think that if there were going to be negative results it would be within the first two weeks. It normally takes a week for my plants to get the fertilizer into their system, this being a spike it could take a little longer.

Interesting!!

Tammy, I'm trying the same thing, only with the tablets that are supposed to feed for two years. I'm fairly sure it won't be enough fertilizer, but maybe it will help for those times that it is just too hot to deal with mixing and carrying the fertilized water. However, I don't really have a good excuse to not fertilize having the hose end mixer/sprayer by Ortho.
