Greetings from the High Desert
Hi,
Welcome to Daves!!
Hello welcome its fun place and very helpful.. enjoy..blessings to you and your family..Twyla
hello from upstate new york
Kind of backwards here considering I first responded to a message about your datura seeds. Welcome to Dave's. I just recently joined, myself. Still working my way around, but it's been so addicting, so far. I didn't get the SASE out today, as planned. Forgot to take the envelopes to work with me :( but tomorrow I'll be home and can do that.
I could only hope to be a stay at home mom again. I was for 15 years, but my babies are grown now. Youngest is 14 and graduating from middle school in two days. I have 5 kiddo's, ranging from the 14 yo to my oldest son, 23. I've just recently built 3 raised flower beds, and am desparately trying to get my flowers to grow. The heat has been incredible here, and too early, but it'll get there, in due time.
This place is so addicting!!
The addiction only gets worse. Wait until you get into the Iris & Lily Forums. Oh my.... you'll want them all. I've just discovered these two myself and am very interested in growing Canna, Iris & Lily from seeds.
My passion last fall was Brugs and I fought insects for 6 months, they love Brugs. I only had one Brug last year and it was enough to hook my husband. At the time I liked the Datura we had better. The deciding factor will be the blooms I'm suppose to be getting from all the Brugs I have collected since last October. It's kind of exciting growing Brugs from seeds from a Hybriditizer because it just might be the next "rage" There are some growers that sell seeds on the Stores associated with DG listed under "Extras" which is accessed from the Home page, little tab up top. Brug.
And when you are good and addicted you can locate one of my threads over in the Parking Lot entitled "Slump Down And Tell Me All About It" cause the professionals won't see you, so we have to help each other.
Welcome to Dave's

The professionals?
Therapists!!! lol lol
Hi Melissa, I'm new to DG too but still want to give you a big welcome.
Hope to see you around. :-)

Hi Melissa! It's so neat that you all garden together and can spend the summer enjoying it with your entire family. (My daughter always enjoyed growing veggies the most, too. When she was tiny she would even eat radishes since she grew them, lol.) From another new member, welcome!
DD
Welcome from Iowa. It sounds like you are well on your way to having a gorgeous place. The kids always make gardening more fun. So many memories are made while working together with them and they will also remember years from now what a great experience they had with mom and dad in the yard and garden.
Welcome from the dry side of Oregon. Most people don't know Oregon has a dry side since they only hear about the wet part where most of the people live. Melissa, my climate is similiar to yours. I see a couple of Arizona newbys here too so welcome to you, too. You will learn a lot of great stuff here and gain a lot of cyber friends. Roadrunner, who also lives in AZ, manages to meet everybody from AZ and probably holds the distinction of being the DG member who has met the most other DG members.
Welcome Melissa!
