Annie, try some Schultz Bloombuilder or any Bloombooster formula. I think that helped me this year:-)

I know it's been about six years since you posted the photo, but WOW! I have a small cutting of Padre myself... I have high hopes for it. How is your plant today? Any new pix?

I bought a cutting of "Arturo" from a nice man on ebay b/c that is my father's name. The man was so nice, he sent me a cutting of "Padre" as a freebie. Now I have Arturo and Padre growing together happily in the same pot. It may be 1-2 more years b4 I see blooms. Thank's OK. I can wait.

Chare if you should happen to see this, pls do tell us about your plant, how often it blooms, etc. I have made a note of using bloom booster on my epis. I didn't know about that tip.

Hi AresDraco and Nery, I didn't see this until now. Sorry for the delay! My opinion of Bloombooster fertilizer has changed. I now believe that the Bloombooster formulas are bad because of the high amount of phosphorous, which can end up being deadly to plants. It is actually potassium which helps blooms. In fact, I've seen people recommend putting banana peels on their epi's for added potassium to help blooming. I just use a fertilizer which has even numbers now like 10-10-10. Other people have had great success with a regular fertilizer regimen and some fish emulsion from time to time.

My 'Padre' is a great bloomer and blooms regularly this time of year only for about a month of the year. I have 'Padre' cuttings stuffed into nearly all my mixed colored epi pots. I don't have any recent pictures of 'Padre,' but this one is from 2008.

sadly, my Arturo and my Padre did not survive my neglect last winter. I would like to get replacements, but kinda low on my list. I will say, however, that epis, all kinds, are turning out to be fantastic plant material for hanging baskets located in areas not as near to my water hose. Very tough and beautiful plants
