Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

I'm sure I'm the first one to post this morning. Actually, I haven't gone to bed yet. Kris came this morning and took Shad until Tuesday afternoon so I had the evening to work, work, work, in the yarden. Gave a lot of grasses and weeds the 'glove of death', did many, many repottings, etc. I finally gave up and came into the house at midnight. I think maybe taking that Ultrim at 8 or 9 tonight was a mistake. Now I'm waiting for the Tylenol PM to take effect so I can go to sleep.
I only brought home(from Powell Gardens)some petunias to plant around the bean bed, a couple 6" pots of varigated sage, a small pot of City of Portland canna, 3 small pots of a red geranium and some cuttings from a pretty pink honeysuckle and a flowering maple, 6 more tall Siam Queen basil, and a big storage tub of spent potting soil. I'm kind of glad there wasn't a lot to have to choose from as I already have so much here to take care of. I didn't even drive down to the compost pile at PG.
I dug 3 of our nice roses that aren't doing well in the soil here and put them in large pots. I plan to leave them there permanently. The soil here is so heavy and doesn't drain well no matter what you do so a pot is the only solution.
I'm so thankful for cool nights here. The days are getting quite hot so the nights are a welcome relief. I open windows all over the house and let the night air in and close them again in the mornings before Jack is us-usually.
I'm getting sleepy so I'll take myself to bed for a few hours. Have a great day everyone.
