I just wrote & asked a waterlily company about water lilies that can tolerate shade well. Here's what they answered. I thought some of you may also benefit from this information.
Chromatella- canary yellow 3-6" flowers
Mexicana- bright yellow 2-4" flowers
James Brydon deep fuschia didn't give size of flowers
Mayla hot pink didn't give size of flowers
Blue Beauty. sky blue can reach 10" in diameter
