I put pollen on Rosamond a few days ago. Is this a good sign?
Is this a good sign?
It split?? I do not think I have ever noticed that happening before. Now as soon as I go out, I will check all of mine. LOL Good luck with it podding Linda!!!
Does that mean it's pregnant? LOL
Maybe the Gynacologists could learn something from Linda.

haha, time will tell
Linda, I have seen a split like that, last year, I didn't know what the heck. Maybe it's a zone 8a thing, huh??
TWINS??
Usually, if the stigma of
a newly opened bloom
that you just pollinated turns brown within a hour or so ,
it's a sign that it probably took.
After hand pollinating always tape the bloom closed to protect from other unwanted pollen carriers.
B U T ! ! !
I do not know if ALL brugs react the same way ('-'?)

Old stigmas usually brown with age ,
my above post was dealing with newly opened (or cut open) blooms that were immediatly hand pollinated.

Since I have both Rosamond and Pink Beauty blooming so beautifully now, I went out to make some scientific observations - the Rosamond had seven empty blossoms all with brown stigma at the end. Three of them were split like yours. (The corolla on the Rosamond measured 9" and the Pink Beauty measured 8")
Maybe yours will turn brown shortly -
WOW, Linda, looks like you hit a homer, congrats!!!
Wishing you luck Linda!
A seed pod! Good going!
LOLLinda, congrats!!
Check YOU Linda!!! Congrats woo hoooooooooooooo
One week later, it's still hanging on.
I have everything crossed for you Linda!!! I've never had a pod mature, and I am very hopeful this year. In the meantime I'm sending all my best pod vibes to you...
Thanks Sherry
