Glad you are joining this happy group of Dave's Gardeners. I understand by your message that you are studying Horticulture and in particular are interested in plants and flowers that attract Butterflies and Hummers. This summer, I planted a few that were designated to attract Butterflies and Hummers, so I'll sure let you know what I find out too. Stop in and tell us about yourself. I am sure you can share some very interesting information with us. Looking forward to it.

Hello, I am happy to be welcomed like this, sorry it took me a long time to find out about the Canadian part of the site.
I think I am gona love this! I even received my first seeds yesterday from argentina, thanks to Ivanito.
This summer, I will be mainly trying fuchsias and hibiscus varieties. If they work great, back at school, I will make small trees of them and try to grow them different ways.
See ya
Glad to see you found us Zarcanat! Ü
Which varieties of Hibiscus are you growing?
Hibiscus acetosella
H. coccinea
H. cannabinus (not sure about ID, they have small thorns)
H. sabdariffa
and I might get old of H. abelmoschus manihot seeds
Sounds like interesting work (and pleasure), zarcanat. I hope you'll keep us posted on your experiments. I will be watching to see how you make out with your Hibiscus as I too, am trying to grow them from seed this year. And Fushia...well, let's just say, they just don't like me! :(
Photos are always welcome here too. :Donna

Do you have a digital camera Zarcanat??? :)
Yep, I think I'll better take some pics if I want to get friends ;-))
LOLOLOL.......it will save you from being bugged an awful lot anyways! ;)
Are you near the Old Section of Montreal??? :)
I guess you mean downtown, not really but it is not a long drive, about 20 minutes.
I just love to go to the chinatown, especially on sunday noon, they have what they call Dim Sums which is kind of a Brunch. It is so great, lots of small 'wagons' between the tables with all different meals and it is so afordable and delicious!!
Please, oh please, bring your camera with you next time! I love Chinese food too so will have to head off to Regina next Tuesday so I won't feel as bad. ;)
I will try to remember. Last time, 2 weeks ago, I went with my aunt and it was her first time, she just loved everything but she couldn't even consider trying fried shrimps in their shells, hum yummi garlicky! crunchy!
Aaaaaaaaaaaah I forgive you for mentioning my fav (and really hard to find good ones on the prairies) shrimp. Cactus is adorable!!!!Ü
Cactus is a sweetie. Great name. Welcome to DG.
Welcome zarcanat, and Cactus-cutiepie. You'll love it here.
