My Favorite Pink

RICHMOND, VA(Zone 7b)

I was fortunate last week to have all my pinks blooming at the same time; first EP, which has since finished, Rosa Traum, Pink Beauty and Rosamond. I have been pleased with the hardiness and vigor of PB all along, but being able to compare them all together gave me the chance to give it first prize for the lovliest bloom.

Gosh Polly, I love the color of all but if I had to chose....I'd pick as you did too :-) Beautiful and so lovely, wow!

Three beauties blooming at the same time, your yard must have been lovely. (and smelled good too)

I love all your pinks. I had a bunch of pinks blooming also. Pink Heaven! LOL. I have PB planted right in front of my streetside rose bed. I am anxious to see how it does for itis the 2nd year. Yor picture made me happy I picked that one!! I am hoping for a huge show.

Very nice. I love all the pinks.

It seems to make good sense to plant your PB next to a rose bed; the wineries do that because the roses are the most sensitive to infestation, and warn of encroaching invasion. All my PB cuttings are big and hardy; some have bloomed already - the blooms looks a bit oversized on a 2 ft plant. Vers orange keeps proving itself the most susceptible to bugs; Snowbank put out the lovliest creamy bloom with a touch of peach at the end after several days; he is in the shade and has such rich varigation. The stem was so pretty with the cream and gr.
I'm in wonderland this week!

Heck, why pick one?! Enjoy them all! They're each a lovely specimen. You went to pink heaven.

So what infestation were the wineries worried about, Polly? My roses never get bugs except for some aphids in spring on the new growth. I hose spray one time and that usually deals with them. I sure hope the brugs do not give my roses bugs. I never thought of that.

I bet you are in wonderland. How great.

They use the roses sort of like the "canary in the mine" who was supposed to croak from fumes before the miners.
Since Roses are supposed to be very susceptible to fungus, that would certainly be a warning to the grower.

Oh yes, the dreaded fungus. We have had such late rain here, I have it on a few. The only drawback to roses.
